Bah, I ordered from buy.com yesterday at 6pm EST. It has been sitting at "sent to warehouse" since yesterday. I got next day shipping, so hopefully it goes out.

Got mine ordered at Antares and it says processed. Hopefully I won't see the dreaded 'backorder'. Anxiously waiting for this and graphics card to arrive so I can move forward on my first build. Wish me luck.

Most BUY.CON orders currently show up as "On Order". Patience peeps, the chips will be here soon. If not, they wouldn't take the order (BUY does not play those tricks like Dell, and others, when something's OOS with no due date in sight). Ingram Micro "balances due" are building up so if you have an order already IN PROCESS then stick with it.

Methinks a beaucoup of new C2Ds will be flying outta the Ingram warehouses come Sunday or Monday ...

I'm curious to see how many people will have their e8400's arrive today or tomorrow. There is no mail on Sunday or Monday (holiday). Buy.com orders now say "on order". Probably would have been best to have waited until Monday when more vendors will have chips and probably at a better price.

Hate to disagree with you Midnight but Buy does pull those tricks too. Not to the degree that Dell does, but they still do it.
Buy.com's biggest problem is just the ridiculously slow order system. My order on average take 4-5 days to ship, and thats for an item thats in stock. If something I order goes out of stock while my order is in, then it can take a couple of weeks.
In fact, I just received the epson printer I ordered from them at thanksgiving. I had to refuse delivery because the rebate expired.
I do like buy.com for their customer service tho. Anytime I have had a problem they were very friendly and helpful in getting it resolved, they also are ENGLISH SPEAKING. Not english speaking wannabe's.
I guessing that these should start shipping today or monday.

I ordered from ecost yesterday. The website said in stock. I called to confirm. I placed my order. I paid out the ass for priority overnight shipping. This morning it's backordered.

I called to complain and the rep said "well maybe at the time you placed the order it was in stock but then later it was not in stock."

My response was, "If it was in stock at the time I placed the order then why is it not on it's way?"

"Sir, I've explained to you already that it's possible it was in stock when you placed the order but then we ran out of stock."

Antares does have them in stock today. I called them 3 minutes after they opened, here's how the conversation went...

me: Have any e8400's in stock?
they: Oh yeah.
me: Well please check because I'm supposed to have mine already but I just found out it's backordered.
they: Ok let me check how many orders came in last night OH GOD ummm let me check two minutes ok?
me: OK.
they: Yeah we have them.
me: YAY!

My friend ordered from shopBLT around 3ish on Wednesday, shipped from the Pennsylvania warehouse Wednesday evening, he just got it delivered to his doorstep in Illinois this morning.

If you ordered from Buy.com, I strongly recommend you email or call them. People on the HardForums have complained that they contacted buy.com saying that they don't have the processors in yet and they can't fulfill any orders. I ordered mine on 1/16 and it never moved beyond "sent to warehouse" as of early this morning. So I canceled my order.

Please do yourself a favor and CALL THEM. Then report back in this thread.

i think all buy orders aren't going to ship til next week, according to fw/sd/hardocp/at. If you're gonna get one today its probably from ecost, pcsuperstore, or compsource. i think these 3 e-tailers were the only idiots that shipped this week. that means they definitely wont be getting the 45nm quads a week before release dates.

I ordered from BLT yesterday morning and it shipped from the PA. warehouse late yesterday afternoon. However, I chose slow shipping, so I won't get it until mid-next week.

Yep as I mentioned above BLT did indeed ship them. My E8400 is coming this afternoon from BLT.

Ordered mine from buy.com. Dont really care if it ships in a week I will live and if I can get in on a better deal before it ships I will just cancel the order.

Need to order a mobo and fan for the sucker. Stock cooling wont cut it for me.

Thanks to this thread, I have:

1. tried to order from pcsuperstore when they were showing 6 in stock
2. realized stock # did not go down when I purchased... "uh oh"
3. left customer service an email saying "please contact me if this item is not really in stock"
4. Received customer service email saying my order was cancelled and item really was out of stock.
4.5 Left an honest review on resellerratings.com
5. Was emo for about 1 day
6. Saw this thread again, noticed that antares digital was in stock
7. Suspected the same shenanigans, but this morning all I got was an email asking me to confirm my shipping address! I called them on the phone:

"Sir is this your office address you want it shipped to?"
"Yes it is"
"OK just wanted to check"
"Is it getting shipped today?"
"Yes"
"w00t"

PS just FYI... I know buy.com has a lot of shady practices. They lie about inventory all the time and shipping for some in stock items has taken a month for me, specifically some RAM.

I was going to wait for newegg for this CPU but I decided I didn't want to wait, and that if I had problems with these rinky dink vendors, I would just order it from newegg anyway. After all the CPU is so hot even if I were to receive two, I could easily sell one.

I get the impression most retailers will have them on Monday...That's what one local source tells me...They're a smaller company, but the told me yesterday the product is expected to be received today via courier & will be placed in the case Sunday night, available for sale first thing Monday morning...

I'm going back over there today to try & squeeze a price out of them...I hope it's not too much more than $215, or I'll be pissed...I'll keep you posted when I have more information...

I ordered one from them Wed around noon, but I still haven't received any tracking number.
It was "avail/in-stock" when I ordered.
Sent them an email just now, making sure if I will get it or not.

STUPID VISA!

Last week I canceled my credit card after hearing Comp Geeks lost visa information so a few days ago I got a new card in the mail.

Not even 3 days with the new card and Visa declined my order from BUY.Com thinking it was suspicious. They reset it and I resubmitted the info only to be declined again after calling a third time they reset my card and upon waiting and then trying again it came back as CANCELLED! This is actually the second time in a year they did this to me. The first time was when I tried ordering Direct TV HD service.

Can they also hire someone who speaks decent english? I dont care if your indian thats fine but if you cant speak clear English you shouldn't be accepting American calls.
