Does Intel chips/motherboards use dual channel memory? If you have 512x4 sticks does it run in 2t timings like AMD? What is the difference? I'm wanting to learn a little more about Intel.

I fix computers for a living and I notice when I come upon Celerons in general that the systems are really slow. Are the Celerons now days just crappy?

Relatively speaking, they're just as crappy as they ever were.

To answer your mem question, yes Intel mobo can run "dual-channel" memory but I think you may be confusing with another common phrase, "running in dual-channel mode" when refering to AMD mobo with Socket 939 chipset running "dual-channel memory" in "dual-channel mode" by sticking the RAM chips in the correct "slots". Oops, i kinda went off there.

intel chips can be used with dual channel as long as mobo can.

I think you can run 4 sticks of ram on intel using 1T never seen it come up in forums back when p4 was best.

well, right now AMD is the way to go if you want to learn about intel ask some questions specefic or use google.

Oh yeah, I'm an AMD man. I know most about AMD but rarely about Intel. Since I fix computers I thought it would be good to refresh my memory. The last time I ever used an Intel CPU was right before the first Athlons came out lol.

The mem controller is on the northbridge. Therefore you need to know the chipset model and figure it out if it will suppost dual channel.
