I need a motherboard to support 8Gb of RAM and a Q9450, or preferably a Xeon X3350 since they're practically identical however I'd suspect the Xeon is a more validated product and the price is very similar.
I dont game so 3D graphics isn't a priority, onboard video and sound is preferable. I'd like a basic motherboard that is stable and you dont need to load much crapware from its driver CDs. I'd prefer an Intel board because I have plenty of experience with their reliability and stability in enterprise environments.
The problem? Only Asus has a G35 board. The G35 seems to have a better onboard video compared to the GMA3100 stuff in the G33 chipsets. Intel only has G33 boards. I only need a basic board with 1 or 2 PCIe slots and 4 ram slots.
Does anyone know if Intel is due to release a G35 board in the near future? Whats the power consumption difference between the G33 and G35 chipsets?
Cheers
