Maybe some limitations come into play when dealing with more Xe2 cores.
I did a quick napking math comparing mtl/a370m/a770m with desktop variants for timespy/wildlife.
Based on the two different leaked timespy and wildlife scores:

32xe2 core Battlemage DGPU should score somewhere around:
~ 21.5K in timespy
Close but slower then 7900xt/4070ti super
Faster then 7900gre/4070ti

Wildlife extreeme: ~ 39.5K (may be the LNL sample were thermal limited in this test and clocks are lower vs timespy)
Little slower then 4070 super
~7900gre

Looks like RDNA4 competitor
~400mm2 die 19GT/s mem maybe 400$-449$ ?
I think people would line up for 400-449$ 16GB card thats ~7900gre and ~4070super.

Im curious too see how this will translate to gaming.

DRIVERS DRIVERS DRIVERS.

In Intel's current financial situation, that's gonna be a bit of a problem.
Intel said part of Alchemist's compatibility and performance issues were due to hardware. That's why they needed so much hand-tuning on Alchemist to get around the deficiencies. Battlemage should need lot less and perform better. They did a Day 1 game demo on a prototype Lunarlake system at Computex.

This is likely why it performs much better on synthetic tests than on games because games are vastly varied in implementation while you can optimize endlessly on synthetics. Synthetic tests are also very demanding on GPU and run at low fps which favors Alchemist needing high workload to perform well.

1.5x is based on timespy says the footnote. It should be greater in many games where Alchemist struggled. Timespy was fine on Alchemist.
I think they are lowballing
1.5x is for lunar lake xe2 implementation. Compare a770m vs a770 its ~30% faster in timespy/wildlife.
Even if its 1.5x A770 that puts it around 20k timespy but i bet it will be higher. Like i said around 21.5k
Also 1.5x A770 is 39.3k (wildlife) so i was spot on with my est.
Didnt think about doing 1.5x A770 thanks.

Also you gave me an idea.
I know the x20 and x24 are around 2700-2750mhz from sisofsandra benchmarks.
Lets take, a OCED A770 score and do 1.5x (anything below top100 in 3dmark-search will do)
A770 @2700mhz(core) ~15000-15100
15000 x1.5 = 22500 (Time Spy) score

Lunarlake clocks the same or slightly less than MTL's iGPU. Battlemage dGPU will clock higher than Alchemist, thus arriving at the ~2x mark. It looks like at the same clocks it might do better than 50% so maybe it'll beat 2x too?

125H Meteorlake with 7 Xe cores only gets 1760 points at 15W according to Geekerwan. At 20W it does around 2400, and 30W, 3200. 125H clocks at 2.2GHz for GPU and the top 288V only does 2.05GHz. Looks like it's ~2x as fast at the iso core/clock/power level.

For the price i think it will be almost ~$500

I would love to see Intel price Battlemage at $500 and then see their cards sit on store shelves or in online store warehouses. They can't do that. Not with competing cards with better drivers. They need to offer the performance of a $600 at $500 price point for gamers to want to risk going with them. Only people who would get Battlemage at $500 would be tinkerers or those who want something new to play with. Not serious gamers who care about a trouble free gaming experience.

Yeah but i guess they can always try with 500 and drop to 450 like amd did with Zen5 🤣🤣

Rumor mills are saying that Battlemage has relatively small changes and it is Celestial that will make a big jump in terms of compatibility, performance per watt, and performance per mm2.

Battlemage needs to be $399, because the top dies are said to come middle of next year. It's nearly a year away. Looking at their luck, they'll probably have to sell Battlemage at same price as Alchemist.

I think it'll sell, but they'll need to bring everything in. <10W idle power, even with 1440p and multi monitor setups, greatly improved compatibility and Day 1 support, ReBar impact less than <3%, and 4070 Ti performance at $349-399.

Not happening cause the die is almost 400 mm2 N4 for the top sku 450 is most likely

There is a reason of cost as well assuming $13K a wafer we have 97 good dies it comes out $135 for die and adding margin on top i will not be surprised at $450 btw N6 is Cheaper approx $9K a wafer tue die cost is $93 usd

It has very significant changes and we already know what they are. Intel has been quite open about those. I'm not sure what bigger jump they are supposed to make with Celestial.

Supposed to be a brand new architecture. But MLID says that Intel is considering axing Celestial and Druid dGPUs and just keeping the APU tiles.

They might change their minds if Battlemage sells well though.

Intel themselves have already talked about pretty deep changes though. They have been layed out in detail when Lunarlake was unveiled

Even if he is wrong, Celestial isn't coming until 2026. Long, long wait. Rumors point to it having 32GB GDDR7 so might be finally the flagship part that Intel should have launched ARC with.
