Umm, I'm using a more contemporary definition by Google's explanation.

Let's try "Let's Freaking Go" but with more NSFW vernacular.

- Huh, I was betting on Liquid Fart Gas. A shart, if you will. Learn something new every day.

No no no! AMD already told us they are focusing on market share next year! /s

- Here we go again. AMD keeps trying this and it keeps not working.

Nvidia is not Intel and is perfectly happy competing on price with their mainstream parts and floating them with the high end AMD conceded.

Then again we all know its just marketing bukake to paper over changing internal priorities at AMD.

Honestly, LFG. A solid 12GB card at that less than $300 price point, it’ll be up against the 3060 12GB and I hope it clobbers it.
Why hope? It will destroy it. This GPU is against the 4060 ti.

It will bring such amazing performance, it will kill all Nvidia and AMD cards at this price range.

N48 won’t be priced at $259 and for most people 4060Ti level performance is plenty good for $260.

Also it’s more likely B580 is the only BMG card launching this year. That likely means Intel will have low end, AMD mid range and Nvidia will have the high end.

I want to see it first. That's all. My "LFG" is also let's release it and see some real benchmarks already.

The 16GB 4060ti is a straight up 2080Ti at about 150W or less. If we get another option like that we all win and that would really raise the floor for budget builds.

If it pans out. I am giving Intel lots of leeway in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory right about now.

Remember, Celestial is now the part we really want

They always talk about TAM or whatever when they're not competitive. The same happened with Polaris as well.

I probably posted this already a few weeks ago:

The reason Polaris is a big deal, is because I believe we will be able to grow that TAM [total addressable market] significantly," said Taylor. "I don't think Nvidia is going to do anything to increase the TAM, because according to everything we've seen around Pascal, it's a high-end part. I don't know what the price is gonna be, but let's say it's as low as £500/$600 and as high as £800/$1000. That price range is not going to expand the TAM for VR. We're going on the record right now to say Polaris will expand the TAM. Full stop.

That whole statement was, IMO, utter nonsense. We all saw how well that worked out once the 1060 was released for $300 USD less than 3 months after that statement lol (also, it was launched barely 3 weeks after the actual RX 480 launch).

It's going to be the usual situation, save for the bottom end. Intel will have the value side of the market, NVIDIA will have the mind share and command the upper mid-range and above. AMD will have the scraps in the middle of the market that sits slightly above Intel's best, at less money than the next better performing NVIDIA part.

If AMD can't be competitive on price, then I suggest that they should just focus on all aspects of their APUs instead. And keep plugging away at the AI market for as long as it pays for itself.

Or just wait until Intel runs out of money chasing markets they have no hope in.

They just have to survive long enough to chase out the #2 incumbent.

AMD'S biggest current issue is that they don't currently offer a PCIe "RX7500XT" class product with 8GB of VRAM in the market. Heck, just an upclocked 6500 8GB would go a long way for them.

AMDs software sucks outside of game drivers Intel already has good media performance decent rendering performance as well and they support their HW for long

B580 starting out @ $250ish. 4060ti performance or RX 6800 performance. The reviewers need to test all the old DX8/9 games to see if they work correctly. If the cards hit $199 and work. I think there are going to be a lot of potential customers.

Speculation: Since Intel is on a 2-year cycle with dGPUs, cancelling Celestial might be a good idea, because while the iGPU on Pantherlake is late 2025, N3 Celestial dGPU would then be late 2026 for mid range and mid 2027 for higher end, and that would be bad. Might as well bring Druid instead for 2026-2027 to match up with iGPU. Maybe they can get it on 18A or even 18A-P too.

I think the confusion between Celestial being cancelled or not is that Celestial is now based on Xe4 rather than Xe3.
