So no volume, as expected. The only thing Intel will be stealing from AMD is N4 capacity that AMD could have used for profit, which is the entire objective of this exercise with plausible deniability that Intel isn't up to its old tricks. It is stealing share from AMD and Nv and sold through the fist shipments with demand that surprised the retailers.
Damn, this Battlemage is something amazing: no volume and yet manages to steal N4 capacity. Really great performance from a N5 chip.So no volume, as expected. The only thing Intel will be stealing from AMD is N4 capacity that AMD could have used for profit
Obviously DOA because Nvidia is about to release a 12GB 5060 with way better performance for only $300 in a few months. As anticipated, initial stock sold through quickly. And it is the king of the under $300 market. I think the pricing on the B570 is too close. It may do well at first if the B580 is hard to buy, but after that it'll just upsell everyone. It needs to be $199 so it can be king of the that tier.
A series needs to go full firesale to clear it out.
Next up: Need to see it in old DX9 and 11 games. How bad is it without rebar? As bad as the A series?
Seems like some AMD Sponsored games are where performance tanks.
LMAO DOA does not mean what you think it means. It is stealing share from AMD and Nv and sold through the fist shipments with demand that surprised the retailers.
Hands with 8 fingers? So no volume, as expected. The only thing Intel will be stealing from AMD is N4 capacity that AMD could have used for profit, which is the entire objective of this exercise with plausible deniability that Intel isn't up to its old tricks.
It's pretty silly to buy it now anyway - AMD/Nvidia will show their hands in just a few weeks.
300 sq mm chip (plus VRAM, big board) sold for $250 takes capacity from AMD to sell 4x 75mm Zen 5s sold from $1200 (consumer) to $5000 (server) chiplets. Intel might take 100 bucks loss on those, but still be "quid in" in terms of saving their Xeon sales that otherwise would be lost.Damn, this Battlemage is something amazing: no volume and yet manages to steal N4 capacity.
I suspect if anyone ruins the party it'll be AMD. Nvidia tosses scraps to PC peasants (which they unfortunately gobble up. Dumbasses). I think TAP&Co. know they have a window that will close. Make as much as they can now, price cut when they have to. The real goof is not having more stock in the channel. Partners ramping up over the next few weeks is not good enough. Need to have those cards in the Xmas stockings.Obviously DOA because Nvidia is about to release a 12GB 5060 with way better performance for only $300 in a few months.
Stock in the channel would have required wafer orders a long time ago. I can understand with how after Alchemist had to be firesaled even off the original low price they might be hesitant to really go all in with production assuming there'd be good reviews and a lot of excitement.I suspect if anyone ruins the party it'll be AMD. I was thinking that the 7600XT at $270 would be a strong debuff. One model sells for $310 at the moment. Gigabyte was $280 and sold out. Has more vram, no oddities for hardware or software, similar performance, and RT is largely a non factor for shoppers.N44 won't have enough memory in the cheapest SKU so I think Intel is in a good position even if the chip is too big
Understandable but still a mistake. They have been "a day late and dollar short" with ARC right from the beginning. Had it released in early 2021 they would have sold everything they could make, bad drivers and all. At some point they have to stop being late and conservative; they can afford neither.Stock in the channel would have required wafer orders a long time ago. I find the card tested a problem. No 7800XT or 7900GRE but a 4070? Charts always have Nvidia at the top, not cool. Stuff like that is subtle but sus as hell.Intel, what have you done, you have a decent product?!

DRAMexchange shows session average of $2.3 per 1 GB GDDR6, weekly lows - $1.30 - they bulk buy with discounts so it's a question of 15-20 bucks with far more future proof than 12 GB.AMD could just put 16 GB on a Navi 44 card, and the extra cost of that memory would be no where near the extra cost of Intel's larger GPU die.

Maybe they will do later, none was expect 7600XT 16GBAMD could just put 16 GB on a Navi 44 card, and the extra cost of that memory would be no where near the extra cost of Intel's larger GPU die.
With AMD it's not what they can do, it's what they will do. Since RDNA every launch has been a comedy of errors. Drivers, hardware, pricing, something always goes terribly.AMD could just put 16 GB on a Navi 44 card, and the extra cost of that memory would be no where near the extra cost of Intel's larger GPU die.
They just need RV770 situation with prices. With AMD it's not what they can do, it's what they will do
That good, but AMD/NV mostly fine at launch.with the ARC team getting out fixes before reviews went live.
never ever gonna happen ever again. They just need RV770 situation with prices.
revisionism, RDNA2 was a completely fine launch.Drivers, hardware, pricing, something always goes terribly.
That not mean selling 8800XT for 300$, just make reasonable prices, if they want 40% market share.never ever gonna happen ever again.
LOLNO You couldn't buy one here in the states.revisionism, RDNA2 was a completely fine launch.
Margin margin margin. That not mean selling 8800XT for 300$, just make reasonable prices
Can't have that without selling $2999 GPUs.if they want 40% market share.
That's not a product issue.LOLNO You couldn't buy one here in the states.
