i won't lie, it sucks to know that im losing out on a whole chunk of performance due to my CPU; i wasnt expecting a 5600x to be "weak".
Relatively easy fixes, in order of decreasing cost.

Pick up Ryzen 9600X, A620M mobo and DDR5-6000 CL30 RAM kit
DDR4-3733 CL16 or lower with current mobo
5700X3D drop in upgrade
Good liquid cooler to allow CPU to hit higher frequencies consistently
PBO tuning to ensure at least two or three cores run at the highest possible frequency.
Tweak RAM subtimings to squeeze the most performance out of every CPU cycle by reducing waiting on RAM access.
Just enjoy what you have and it won't matter as long as you keep your mind on the gameplay and not get distracted by a little stuttering here or there.

5700X3D is by far the easiest or he can get a 12600K Cheap with B760 with DDR4 to minimize cost

Anyone with b580 care to test something about the "cpu overhead" issue ?
Apparently it doesn't really have multiple queue pairs, so 1 tx queue and 1 rx queue.

It may try to pre-render more frames ahead of time than the cpu can handle.

Find anything related to flipqueue / flip queue / flip buffer / flipbuffer / flipqueuesize / flipbuffersize in regedit. If its more than 0 we have, a culprit. AFIAK this setting was 1 on amd and could be set on nvidia driver directly.

Give the full path in regedit. Maybe Digdog can have a look.

It's a mystery. Maybe the perfect hardware is being let down by the software team.
Not fair to blame the software people since quite a few of them were let go and the remaining ones are shouldering extra responsibilities. All of this is on Pat. He simply diverted more funding to everything else.

Nothing is perfect. I was being sarcastic.
Who knows how picky the hardware is to schedule.

Would be hilarious if it tried to queue 1 frame and that was the problem xD
Or better yet disabling hw flip queue and using software flip queue at 0 would be better xD

Top img is amd (orange is present) nvidia is bottom it has 1 pre-rendered frame on top of current. Intel should be same as amd. If it looks like nvidia ???
Also the setting im talking about is apparently called "HwQueuedRenderPacketGroupLimitPerNode" on arc but not sure yet.

I'm not getting BM until B770/780 and I doubt Digdog would want to mess with GPUview. Doesn't look very user-friendly.
Already have ppl working on it. From what i can tell from screenshots im recieving alchemist has 3 pre rendered frames vs amd 0 and nvidias 1. And bmg so far has 4 or 5 in gpuview ??? May be nothing but i have a hunch im on to something xD

Results b580 +i3 12100 going from default 3 to 2,1,0 does nothing 0 change same exact performance not even +-1%. Wonder if its this setting or if its locked and changing it does nothing as its forced by the arc driver.

Do we blame Lisa when the Radeon team fails to deliver?

We don’t right… this is entirely on Tom Peterson and his team. How come they didn’t mention this issue outright on their marketing campaign, that’s cause its basically propaganda to sell their product.

This is why third party reviews are important.

Or just buy 3060 at like what, 50 bucks more?

Yes, of course, she is CEO! Especially when it comes to money allocation - it's on her

did i time-travel back in time?? i feel like it's 2010 again and i'm trying to squeeze what little extra power i can from my decrepit 8800 GTS.
unfortunately this seems to be something found on Nv control panels, i can't find the equivalent setting for Intel.

"In compliance with Microsoft® new Universal Windows Platform (UWP), Intel has stopped bundling the Intel® Graphics Command Center and the Intel® Graphics Control Panel with DCH Graphics Drivers."
"Windows® 10 Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) users may face challenges since access to the Microsoft Store may be limited."

until someone builds me an offline installer, i don't have access to this. Which, if you ask me, is great. While i loved ShadowPlay on my GTX 770, i hated how bloated the Nv/AMD control centers are, and Intel doesn't even have a ShP equivalent.

So, sorry not sorry. I'm happy on my WX platform without Cortana or the Windows Store or telemetry or ads and i'm not changing it, even for a handful of frames.

Its called "HwQueuedRenderPacketGroupLimitPerNode" but changing in regedit does nothing.

Link to the story on the Verge https://www.theverge.com/2025/1/6/24337345/intel-discrete-gpu-ces-2025

I remain skeptical concerning their commitment to PC gamers. Of course, I will be stoked if they follow through.

List of things they have to fix pronto for C series-

1.Resizable bar requirement
2. CPU overhead
3. Remaining DX9-11 performance issues
4. Older PCIe gen performance issues

I think some of you have written that it isn't until Druid that ARC gets a major hardware change? If so, it's going to be tough sledding for Celestial.

Other than the DX9/11 stuff they can probably just run out the time on the rest, as long as they don't make it worse. Not a big deal for them since their volume of sales is so low it doesn't make a big financial dent anyway. I of course hope they fix the issues (and they probably will at least improve a bit to the extent it can be done in drivers), but the way I see it they don't need to. In 1-2 years even fewer PC's that these cards go to into will be a problem.
