Does all the Chipsets support BCLK increments or that goes only for the Z series ??

Stagnation.... It's been 7yrs since core 2 and Intel look like they aren't trying.

As bad as AMD might be doing at least you can't fault them for not trying.

You think core 2 is equivalent to Haswell?

OK, I guess they're calling it BCLK now. Same thing, really, isn't it?

The FSB transfered data and was a bus. The BCLK is simply a baseclock for the system.

Since its a strap, I assume only K models will have it unlocked. I guess they will limit it to Z chipsets too as well to unlock. Else they enable high overclocking on H series boards due to the strap.

anything new on the K/non K supported instructions TSX/TXT etc?

Anything points to K parts not supporting TSX/TXT which actually is the only thing that bothers me at Haswell.

I'm ok with the lower performance gains, but that's because I don't own a Sandy or an Ivy Bridge and I kind of understand Intel's focus on low-power. We need the kind of performance Intel is able to pull, but in smaller form-factors. And we need smart power saving techniques such as deeper idle states, ram-buffered video output for displays, integrated VR and so on.

Another feature I'm interested in is support for Thunderbolt. Any word on that? I guess it won't be native on this generation, but I do hope it will provide some easy integration and help this technology to emerge.

From my point of view at the performance thresholds Intel is at this moment, the focus they have on IO and power consumption seems about right. However I will be disappointed if they don't deliver in this area.

Lets see if its not TXT only as missing. Just as previous.

I cant imagine any Haswell CPU without TSX.

Yeah, I hope that too, TXT being more of a datacenter feature. It makes little sense removing TSX, like if that's even possible.

Box art may be legit, but its only a texture mapped around a cuboid not a real box obviously.

Judging from the box art it looks like a Haswell chip can be implanted in your brain...I thought that wasn't coming for a few more generations

It's much easier for them if they have their CPU tell your CPU to upgrade every cycle. It was bound to happen!

box is fake 100%

Besides, does anyone care what the box looks like? I usually order an OEM chip that doesn't come with the box.

Even if I did order the retail CPU (and the crap cooler that comes with it), I'd end up throwing that junk out once I had the system running stable for a week.

You order OEM chips without coolers and limited 30-90days warranty? Not to mention how hard OEM aka tray chips is to find in the channel.
