So you paid a $70-100 motherboard X79 chipset premium that could have been used towards and SSD or a faster GPU, then put up with higher power consumption of i7 3820 for no performance benefit, while missing out the Haswell launch and will be waiting X months before being asked to pay another $70-100 premium for a Haswell-E (or w/e it is) motherboard? Makes sense.
No, I am still rocking on my X58 / i7 920 @ 3.5 Ghz purchased at launch
The longest I have had a PC (CPU/Mobo without upgrading)
Changed GPU a couple of times...that's it.
So I will wait for Hasswell-E.
Like I said...I will not pay (and thus support IGP efforts) for any IGP from any vendor.
I vote with my wallet...and my vote is NOT for IGP's...simpel as that.
And your talk about powerconsumption is quite funny.
Look thorugh my posting history.
That is a type of metric I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really don't give a *beeep* about.
Just like perf/watt.
Performance is my metric..the rest is just static to me.
