If you guys want my honest and good ol hearted advice.

1. If you need a multi tasking mainframe, Grab a Q6600 and skip penrynn.

2. If your an avid gamer, grab a E2xxx or a E4xxx or wait for the E7xxx <-- wolfdale on 11x with half cache, and nuke your GPU sector with SLI, or Xfire.

3. If you just want to build an obsesive computer which represents the words overkill for everything on the general consumer side minus crysis (i dont think my computer can keep up with this game even max'd out), Please PM me for advice. <grin>

I think... we are already in the price drop, guys. Q6700 is now about $270-$300. Q6600 is now about $190-$240. Q9450 is now $300. E8400 is now around $190-220. E8500 is around $280-$320.

Q9450 at Microcenter.com
Q6700 deal just happened... two days ago at ClubIT. It happened last week on Sunday at ClubIT as well (with a game bundled for free), I think. And... it randomly appears on TigerDirect from hours to hours.
E3110 can be had for $179.99 at TankGuys. E8400 around $200 almost everywhere.
E8500 is $289.99 at TigerDirect.
