I don't mind waiting. Just making sure I did things right is all.
It isn't you, they either don't have the CPUs to ship out as replacements, or they are stalling. I am reading numerous reports of RMAs where Intel has gone silent. Probably inundated with RMAs at the moment. I would not doubt that the agents helping folks like you just found out they are getting laid off.

I feel Newegg is paying too much for the 14900K
You could also sell your whole PC for some entertaining experience:
Until August 11th, Intel is sponsoring a PC Trade-In deal allowing you to trade in a desktop, laptop, or tablet for up to $400 off the purchase of a new 14th-gen computer. (...) a fun gamble on Raptor Lake processors with recent extremely high crash rates.
lol

any chance they paid the big bucks for the failure analysis on a few of their samples? or is it about the whole "mobile chips are not affected" stance.
They were still getting a quote last I heard, so probably too early for FA results.

My best guess on the investigation: We know most of it already. GN will just nail their ass to the wall with hard data to back it all up.

they likely have interviewed big clients in DC and OEM, been provided with emails/docs/invoices/ that kind of stuff. Might also have contacts inside of Intel providing solid data with verifiable sources. All of which will prove beyond reasonable doubt that Intel has known for a long time about the issues. While continuing to ship CPUs with latent defects, denying RMAs, and staying quiet while other companies take the heat for games, apps, and windows instability and crashing. I would not be surprised if Intel has been throwing around extra money to influence the influencers to downplay all of this. Having a lowly communications manager release statements, and using a reddit post of all things to admit to oxidation issues is going to get skewered too.

Lawyers and governments are involved now, so the real pain is just starting. As @Saylick mentioned, all of the Intel white knights have been slain. All that's left is the black knight from Monty Python's Holy Grail, after having his arms and legs cut off, telling us to come back so they can bite our kneecaps off. As all of the nonsense they have been spewing at us doesn't have a leg left to stand on.

Post from one of the PCMR threads -

I work at a semiconductor fab outside of Portland, not Intel. We need bodies incredibly bad right now. Wind blowing that Intel is doing layoffs down the street, hopefully we can pick up some of them.

That's good to read. Intel did them dirty but hopefully many of them land on their feet.

Does this mean zen5 should be benched against 12900k and zen 4 only. I am semi-seriously asking.
No, I don't think that's the best way to handle this. The performance of Zen5 vs raptor lake is still relevant even if no one should buy Raptor Lake. Leaving Raptor Lake off the charts just serves to stir up drama.

There are buyers who are looking to switch from raptor lake. There are people who just want to know how they compare and will never buy raptor lake. And there are people who are going to buy the raptor lake successor no matter how good Zen5 is. None of them benefit from it being left off.

If they want to protect prospective buyers, put a PSA at the start of the video and mention in the summary. If they're worried that's not enough, add an asterisk to the graphs, or make the bars for raptor lake yellow and black, or add a skull or something.
