Wow, the chip got there on Monday of this week, and they already sent out a brand new CPU via UPS with tracking.
Intel is a big winner in my books for RMAs right next to Crucial!
Sorry to hijack the thread....but Crucial have good RMA's!??!
That's news to me..
Had to RMA two dodgy sticks of Ballistix DDR500 Ram, and all they'll give me is $55 store credit for each.... so now i have to purchase two of their DDR400 sticks, and I still have to pay shipping back to me! (let alone shipping of the sticks back to them).
So I'll be out of pocket for their rubbish..
wait this doesnt make sense.
They said they would credit you instead of replace it for the DDR400?
You need to fight with CSR then, and let her know DDR400 is a downstep not a side step or upgrade, and therefore you should be allowed to get it for free.
If not, then your rub the lifetime warrenty concept in there face and you remind them in a stern yet nice tone, that the price value for ram back then is not $55, and if there gonna credit you, they would need to do so in the 150-200 ranges both, or how much you really paid for it. This is a great time to have kept the reciept.
Remember warrenty means = or greater. Lifetime also means, no depreciation in cost or price, since its gaurentee'd to work lifetime.
So if its crucial's error, you can get your full retail refunded to you.
You need to tell them what you want, crucial is very nice, and most of the time will work with it out with you.
And yes Crucial has the #2 RMA service in my book only second to eVGA.
eVGA has THE BEST RMA. Unfortunately, on the 680 and 780i you use every other month.
