It's funny because intel's improvements in their iGPU is worth it. You guys laugh because you're high end gamers with GTX 980Ti's (lol at Pandamonia's quote.... I'm hoping that was a joke of some sorts because otherwise... just lol).
But I'll be recommending no GPU setups for a LOT of gamers in the near future as the intel iGPU improves since all they play is games like dota/league/easy to drive games. If intel eats that low end market up.... that's a huge market. You guys may not realize it since you're high end gamers... but the low end market disappearing for AMD/Nvidia is worrisome. Luckily, they have Artic Islands and Pascal and that should widen the gap immensely again.
ah a bit antagonistic with the tone but completely correct I think and echo's sentiments I had posted earlier...
A big segment of gamers are only playing relatively non-demanding games like starcraft, dota, lol, and just steam games in general. The viewership and $ surrounding esports is expanding very rapidly, and with it the # of gamers who are primarily interested in spending lots of time on these games.
This segment is purposely targeted by Intel and is likely a reason for pursuing iGPU improvements aggressively. In short time, they will make discrete graphics nonessential for a HUGE number of titles (again, think of steam games).
