Has that huge APU been announced for consumers? I though it was only announced for servers.
I don't think it's been announced for anything- there was a leak from some server roadmap, and that's about it. It might all turn out to be fake (like the roadmap that came out earlier this year).
But if it does exist, I suspect they'll ship it in some form for consumers. Maybe they will sell the CPU and GPU dies as separate parts, instead of unified on one interposer? (Easier to shoehorn into the antique ATX format that way.)
I bet that the APU HBM Zen versión would be as strong as a Broadwell in CPU, but with the GPU of a R9 380. V:
LOL
What is the TDP of this miracle chip going to be?

It was actually leaked by an AMD rep at a conference in Japan, back in May I think (first mentioned by a poster on semiaccurate). AMD would be insane not to sell such a product to enthusiasts though.
As stated earlier in the thread (and in other threads regarding the topic), the AMD rep mentioned a TDP range of 200-300W for the APU. Pretty beefy.
So, anywhere from 200W-700W.
It goes that far back? Interesting. All I remember is the semiaccurate forum post about it.

This was the first mention of Skylake GT4e in a leaked document as far as I know. CPU-world reported it too but they don't leak slides.
The numbers we have compiled today have been provided over at Compubench which lists down three new chips. We are looking at the Core i5-6200U processor with HD Graphics 520, Core M3-6Y30 with HD graphics 515 and lastly, an unknown processor with Iris Graphics 540. Now we know this in fact that Skylake will get several SKUs which include the Skylake-S (Desktop), Skylake-U (Ultra Low Power), Skylake-Y (Low TDP) and Skylake-H (High Performance Mobility) variants. All of these will feature several chips aimed towards various tiers based on their pricing, performance and power consumption.
With the launch of Intels next iteration of CPUs just around the corner, rumours have been circulating media outlets for a short while. This can be in the form of pricing or unreleased specifications or even pictures of the naked PCB.
Information is now coming around that the release of the Skylake processors will be staggered, much like how AMD are currently doing with the R9 Fury range or NVIDIA has done with the GTX 900 series. What we have deduced is that in the first wave of releases, we will only be able to purchase the more desirable CPUs, the i7-6700k, i5-6600k and a currently unknown, but what can be assumed as the i5-6500k; however, that is purely my assumption.
Give me 15% and 4.5-5.0GHz on air and I'm happy. Broadwell was a 5.5% bump and it's a tick.

It could be on the beast machines... but in this consumer market it could go down to 140 W...As stated earlier in the thread (and in other threads regarding the topic), the AMD rep mentioned a TDP range of 200-300W for the APU. Pretty beefy.
Could it be that there is no availability of the Broadwell because Intel is busy making Skylake? Same node, after all.
