Goddamn that's a steep (read: stupidly high) price, unless, by some miracle and very tight NDAs, it ends up being a hexa-core. If the i5-6600K ends up being above $250, I'm going with a Devil's Canyon.
The one thing I'm really curious about now are the rumors of the Skylake GPU being 50% faster than the gpu found in the 5775C.
If that is true then we have reached the point where any future GPU sold by AMD and Nvidia for $100 or less has been caught up with by Intel.
The death of sub $150 discrete GPUs would be in realistic in 5-6 years.
That may only happen with the Skylake GT4e.
Still waiting for more Asus info and images when it comes to Skylake. This is the only new image I have found. I know not that great info as Sweepr has posted but its all i could find.

When skylake GT4e will be released next year, AMD and NVIDIA will have 16nm dGPUs, so the death of $150 dGPU is not going to happen. Not to mention that only Apple is using the Iris Pro so far.
New Core i7 6700K Geekbench result, this time 32-bit (easier to compare):
Seems that 4.7 is the wall for Core i7 and 4.8 is the wall for a i5... Interesting. And the i5 has far better performance of a 2500K.
So it's decided. Core i5, here we go!
BTW... 2.6 volts... That's insane
... Really insane... Far worse than the WR Bulldozer.
No way in hell are you going to get me to believe a 6700K is running at 6.3Ghz.

Did you read the whole thread?Wow, you deduced the entire overclocking ability of the 6700k with only 3 samples. Do you also sell fortunes in tents on the weekends?
Did you read the whole thread?
Just read it and you will make conclusions first.
After all, seems that the Core i7 is not that impressive compared to the i5

Maybe HT is the one who reduces OC potential in contrast to real cores.i7s have always been about adding some extra features like HT. When you have stuff that will take advantage of HT, the i7 looks far more "impressive" than non-HT i5s.

Plus Intel drivers still suck for their video cards. They display artefacts, some games basically don't work etc. Intel needs to invest in this if they are going to completely replace lower end cards.
