http://benchlife.info/skylake-s-cpu-price-show-as-1k-per-unit-08032015/

MSRP prices:
Intel Core i7-6700K $316
Intel Core i7-6700 $282
Intel Core i5-6600K $225
Intel Core i5-6600 $199
Intel Core i5-6500 $179
Intel Core i5-6400 $170
Intel Core i7-6700T $282
Intel Core i5-6600T $199
Intel Core i5-6500T $179
Intel Core i5-6400T $170

Mmm. Tempting. i5-6600K for bang-for-buck, or i5-6400T for a lower-power ITX build? What's the TDP on i5-6400T? If it's 35W, I might get one.

Edit: found this when I searched:

Intel Core i5-6400T Performance Compared With DDR4 and DDR3 Memory – Low TDP Skylake CPU Peaks during 40W System Power Consumption

The 35W quads are looking tempting. Fair pricing (so much for Intel monopoly doom predictions) and not that much slower than 65W models.

Beautiful.

Does anyone know the exact time when NDA will be lifted (5th August)?

I think the time will be at gamescon. So middle of the day CET time or something.

Once it's good to live in EU While drinking morning coffee (yey vacation time) I get to follow reveal of Skylake while hitting F5 on local HW store pages so I can get my Skylake ordered. Upgrade has been long time coming, i5 750 @ 3,8GHz is getting tad old.

Any idea what IGP will be included on these? I remember Iris Pro 6100/6200 was supposed to be standard...?

I called my local Microcenter. They had no idea about Skylake which is unusual. They usually can tell me if they did get some things in for launch.

I am right in guessing that existing 1150 aftermarket coolers will fit 1151?

My newegg cart is almost ready for the 5th.

Can't wait to see the reviews for this thing. It will tell me what we're getting with the 6/8 core variants.

Noctua Provides Free Mounting Upgrade for Upcoming Intel "Skylake" Platform

Noctua today announced that it will continue its tradition of supplying customers with its premium-class SecuFirm2 mounting kits for novel platforms free of charge. While most Noctua heatsinks support Skylake's LGA1151 socket out of the box, older models can be upgraded with the NM-i115x kit at no additional cost.

"We're determined to provide the best possible support to our customers and over the years, we've sent many thousands of mounting kits free of charge to users who wanted to upgrade to new platforms", says Mag. Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO). "With Skylake just around the corner, we're pleased to announce that we'll extend this offer for LGA1151. Owners of older Noctua retail heatsinks that don't support LGA1151 out of the box will be able to upgrade to the new socket free of charge!"

Due to the spacing of the mounting holes being identical on LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155 and LGA1156, Noctua's previous SecuFirm2 mounting systems for LGA115x also support Intel's upcoming 'Skylake' platform. All current Noctua coolers already include SecuFirm2 mounting systems for LGA115x and can thus be used on LGA1150 mainboards without any upgrades or modifications.

Users of older Noctua retail models that don't include a SecuFirm2 mounting system for LGA115x can obtain the NM-i115x kit free of charge on Noctua's website in order to make their heatsinks compatible with the new socket. The NM-i115x kit is compatible with most Noctua retail coolers since 2005.

Price is lower becauae they arent shoving you with that godawful stock cooler. Which is actually nice. Then again, they may also be pulling a Haswell-E with the pricing, lowering the price and bite thr bullet to convince people to pay the higher platform cost.

Very cool of Noctua to provide fitting kits for free for their older models.

I have my eye on i5 6600K and then some decently priced mobo, without fancy features, to go with it.

Been awhile since I have build, but mobo in price range of ~100-150€ should get job done while provide decent OC capabilities? Or should I maybe take look at ~200€ models?

The price is lower for all SKUs, also those with coolers. Its due to the strong dollar.

Yea, I am surprised. The Microcenter near me has nothing about skylake listed at all. I would not expect a price yet or anything, but I would at least expect something like "coming this week, next gen Intel processors". I have a feeling availability will not be very good.

Did they have any info about previous releases such as Haswell or Ivybridge?

In the past yes. I would call and they would tell me they were getting things in they just didn't know how much(quantity) there were getting or they would tell me certain motherboards and cpus were in but they were not allowed to sell it until release date.
