Found this list of nearly 100 Skylake overclocking results, also added to the OP. There's system specs and settings there too.

An average core clock of approximately 4.7 GHz has been achieved by all those who have submitted their results in there. Interestingly, the person who ranked at number 11 didn’t even use a K-unlocked chip. He got 4.8GHz with a 6400 CPU and a Blck of 177.8.

BTW, Core i7-6700K prices going down in Europe:

Some Skylake-related stuff from CES 2016:

Samsung going after Microsoft with a Surface Pro competitor, running Core M (Skylake-Y). Gorgeous AMOLED display included.

Samsung Galaxy TabPro S is a 12 inch 2-in-1 Windows tablet

Samsung is adding a new model to its Galaxy Tab S line of premium tablets… but this time the company is launching a Windows tablet rather than an Android model.

The Samsung Galaxy TabPro S is a 12 inch Windows 2-in-1 tablet with a thin and light design and a detachable keyboard dock. It has a fanless design, an Intel Core M Skylake processor, and up to 10.5 hours of battery life. The tablet also supports an optional Bluetooth pen and a multi-port adapter that connects to the tablet’s USB Type-C port. Samsung says the Galaxy TabPro S should be available in February.

It’d be tempting to call this tablet Samsung’s answer to the Microsoft Surface… and I guess it kind of is. But Samsung’s model has a few distinctive features including a 2160 x 1440 pixel AMOLED display and a compact design: it measures just a quarter of an inch thick and weighs about 1.5 pounds...

Fanless Skylake-U by Zotac.

Zotac’s 2016 mini PC lineup includes PC stick, fanless Skylake system, and a model with 6 display ports

The new Zotac C Series is a much bigger, much more powerful computer. It has a Core i5-6300U Skylake processor with Intel HD Graphics 520, two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, a USB 3.0/SD card combo slot, to full-sized USB 3.0 ports. and a full-sized USB 2.0 port.

It also has DisplayPort, HDMI, 802.11ac WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0. The computer features dual Gigabit Ethernet ports and supports up to 16GB of RAM and features a 2.5 inch drive bay.

While the Zotac C Series is relatively small for a desktop computers, it’s about twice the size of the CI323 nano and it’s at least twice as heavy. Zotac says that’s because it has a large heat sink under the hood to keep things cool without using any noisy fans...

Another ultralight magnesium alloy case computer by NEC, this time a Core M (Skylake-Y) convertible. The tablet portion weights only 1.1 pounds, close to an iPad Air 2 at 0.98 pound (iPad Pro = 1.59 pounds). Lightest x86 Core system yet?

NEC introduces 11.6 inch LaVie Hybrid Zero 2-in-1 tablet

NEC is expanding its LaVie line of compact computers with a new 11.6 inch tablet with a detachable keyboard dock. Full details and pricing haven’t been announced yet, but the new LaVie Zero Hybrid is a premium device with a magnesium alloy case and a spare battery in the keyboard section, which should allow for reasonably long battery life.

When used as a laptop, the new NEC LaVie Hybrid Zero weighs about 2.2 pounds. Take away the keyboard and you’ve got a 1.1 tablet. It’s powered by an Intel Core M Skylake processor and the tablet has an Intel RealSense 3D camera...

All of those probably belong more in the SFF, Notebooks, Pre-Built/Barebones PCs forum?

But now that they have already been posted, the Zotac C series look really nice. Could be good for e.g. HTPC usage, since it's fanless and thus completely silent. I wonder if it'll be able to decode 4K movies in 10 bit though? Skylake does not have complete support for H.265/HEVC decoding in 10 bit mode so some of the work will have to be done by the CPU. Will the i5-6300U in the Zotac C be able to cope with that at really high bitrates (e.g. 4K UHD Blu-ray ISO rips)? :\

www.engadget.com/2016/01/06/intel-compute-stick-core-m3-m5

Dell launches Latitude 11 5000 Series 2-in-1 with Core M and USB C

The Dell Latitude 11 5000 Series 2-in-1 will be avialable with up to an Intel Core M5-6Y57 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of solid state storage, but an entry-level model will likely ship with a Core M3 chip, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.

Other features include 802.11ac WiFI, Bluetooth 4.1, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, stereo speakers, and a 35 Whr field replaceable battery.

The tablet has a full-sized USB 3.0 port and a USB 3.0 type C port which you can use to connect a wide range of peripherals using an optional Dell Dock (or a different docking solution or adapter cable). There’s also a microSDXC card reader, a micro HDMI port, and a micro SIM card slot if you opt for a model with cellular capabilities.

AVX bug that I mentioned earlier that can be repro'ed in Prime95 has been confirmed by Intel:

"Intel has identified an issue that potentially affects the 6th Gen Intel® Core™ family of products. This issue only occurs under certain complex workload conditions, like those that may be encountered when running applications like Prime95. In those cases, the processor may hang or cause unpredictable system behavior. Intel has identified and released a fix and is working with external business partners to get the fix deployed through BIOS."

The bug found by prime95 is confirmed and a patch will be deployed by Intel: https://communities.intel.com/thread/96157?start=15&tstart=0
I wouldn't care about this issue at all, as it was found using Prime95. Prime95 is a synthetic load and as we all know it should not even be run on any modern Intel CPU, as it overvolts the CPU and could cause permanent damage. That kind of load can of course never happen in any "real" program.

Sorry, couldn't stop myself.

And thanks for the heads-up. Read about this issue the other day and found it interesting. Good to know that they've identified the source of the issue (but obviously not good that it slipped through in the first place).

I almost missed the sarcasm

That's such a complex CPU that you're bound to find issues. The good news is that it's patchable without needing a new silicon revision. I wonder if the patch will impact performance.

Some bits about Intel's Skylake GT4e NUC at CES 2016:

Intel’s next NUC will be a quad-core mini PC with Iris Pro and Thunderbolt 3

The most interesting NUC data Intel shared was something it wasn't ready to show us yet—it's a brand-new kind of NUC in a redesigned case, and it will offer performance above and beyond even the Core i7 Broadwell NUC Intel released last year. The box, codenamed "Skull Canyon," will feature a 45W quad-core Skylake CPU with the Iris Pro integrated GPU, which in the Skylake generation means 72 execution units (EUs) and 128MB of eDRAM. The box will also include a Thunderbolt 3 port, which Intel says can be used for data or for external graphics (whether the company would be relying on third parties like Razer for this tech or developing its own Thunderbolt GPU enclosure is anyone's guess). This will be the first time Intel has included Thunderbolt in any NUC since the original Ivy Bridge models.

Intel says that the new NUC is targeted at gamers and workstation users, people who usually can't use mini PCs even if they want to. Iris Pro's gaming performance won't be anywhere near that of a high-end desktop with a dedicated GPU, but it will be nice to be able to get this combination of size and performance directly from Intel rather than relying on third parties like Gigabyte. Like the other NUCs, the Skull Canyon version will be a barebones kit without an SSD, RAM, or OS.

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2016...-core-mini-pc-with-iris-pro-and-thunderbolt-3

Nice to see Intel bringing the top notch Skylake SKU to desktops much earlier than the LGA version. Even at 45W TDP I expect it to be quite a bit faster than Broadwell-K and Bristol Ridge. Hopefully this is the start of a new lineup of products and BGA Kabylake GT4e 128+128MB also arrives in NUC form early next-year and so on.

The Razer Core can boost any Thunderbolt 3-equipped laptop with an external GPU

Razer’s new GPU dock is dubbed the Razer Core. Designed to work with Razer’s new GPU-less laptop, the Razer Blade Stealth, it will could in fact work with any laptop that packs a Thunderbolt 3 port. Which at the moment means not many laptops, although that number is steadily increasing.

[UPDATE, 01/06/2015 at 5:00 PM: Razer reached out to clarify that although they won't be doing anything to limit the Core's connection, manufacturers will need to do some work to "support Intel's detachable graphics" if Core is going to work. Says Razer, "We would love to see it supported by as many devices as possible."

The Core is an aluminum-housed dock that slides open to accommodate “virtually every popular desktop graphics card from both AMD and Nvidia,” according to Razer’s release (double-wide, full-length PCI-Express x16 cards, drawing up to 375W of power). Cards are held in place by a screw, and then the whole enclosure slides back together. Plug it in and you’re ready to play—no reboot required.

The Core itself measures approximately 8.5-by-4.1-by-13.5 inches (218-by-105-by- 340mm), with two-zone Chroma lighting, four USB 3.0 ports, and Gigabit ethernet...

www.pcworld.com/article/3019369/har...t-3-equipped-laptop-with-an-external-gpu.html

Finally a manufacturer-agnostic GPU dock using Thunderbolt 3.

Also, Dell XPS 13 (2016) embracing Iris Graphics:

Aside from the color option, there’s more good news for the XPS 13. A new Intel Iris graphics option is arriving in February for the Core i7 model. Dell claims that will boost graphics performance by around 40 percent, and it’ll be interesting to see how the battery life is affected.

I saw an xps 13 variant with iris 540 in the Australian site for a while ago and was thinking it is only available in Australia. Dell is planning to sell it elsewhere after all. Wish that model would reach NBC soon.

Dell launches Latitude 11 5000 Series 2-in-1 with Core M and USB C

http://liliputing.com/2016/01/dell-...5000-series-2-in-1-with-core-m-and-usb-c.html

Looks like the follow up to the Venue 11 Pro, with a new name and a Skylake SoC. Looks like the exact same form factor, and the same accessories (with the battery keyboard dock)- hope it's backwards compatible!

EDIT: Actually, the slim keyboard looks like they redesigned it (again). Kind of tempting, the battery keyboard can be a bit bulky to carry around.

Good news.
ASRock will launch B150, H170 and C232 motherboards that support overclocking via BCLK @ locked Skylake CPUs. Just as I predicted, they are the first to enable non-Z170 BCLK overclocking.

Tom's Hardware.fr said:
According to the manufacturer, to overclock the processors Skylake via bus frequency (BCLK) on motherboards based on a chipset other than the Z170, some hardware modifications are necessary. ASRock did not want to go into details, but one of the amendments would unblock the control voltage applied to the CPU. Two models based on a chipset and a third H170 model equipped with a B150 and chipset are expected.

Intel budget OCing is back (at least for now).

There's a faction on this forum that is going to be heartbroken by this news

It will be nice for those that have Asrock boards already, but I don't see why it would cause anyone too much heartbreak other than having been wrong. Considering the Z170M Pro4S is only $5 more than the cheapest H170 board and the same price as the H170 Pro4S, it would be hard to recommend an AsRock board for OCing cheaper than the Z170M Pro4S. Now if they can get it working on H110, that would be a different story.
