So I have a:
Intel 320 Series SSDSA2CW120G3K5 (purchased 04/2011)
installed on a:
Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3 Intel P67 (purchased 04/2011)
Brand new install of Windows 7 with the Intel drivers installed and it is disappearing sporadically from device manager. The only way I seem to get it back is to remove the system completely from power and let it sit, do unplug/replug the SATA cable to the HD.
Pretty sure I replaced the cable a while back, not sure at this point, but I definitely moved the SSD from one SATA port to another. Yet, from time to time, it goes missing. I've run the Intel Toolbox scans and all seems well, yet still this issue. Could the drive be going? I mean it's been 3 years...
Also, my new SanDisk Extreme PRO 480GB seems to "lag" occasionally when accessing it with Q-Dir (Windows Explorer alternative) or when streaming video to my Xbox. Randomly, watching something and then the Xbox reports that the file is no longer available. Give it a few mins and it's back.
With the 2 situations, I'm thinking that the SATA ports are going, but need a 2nd opinion(s). Any ideas?
