Funny how people choose to only read the parts they want to hear. Sure, Intel is sticking with RAMBUST for a while yet, but as noted, they are also doing chipsets for SDRAM (soon) & DDR (later). They're doing this by necessity, they have that RAMBUST agreement that binds them. But Intel is playing it smart, letting others like VIA, Micron, etc., produce chipsets for Pentiums while they (Intel) are still contract-bound. Why do you think Intel is not suing these chipset makers for doing P4 chipsets without licensing from Intel? So Intel can have the best of all worlds, ie. support for all types of memory, without getting hassled by RAMBUST in the process.
Also, as noted, price has come way down, due a lot to that Samsung has implemented 20% cost savings in production costs, and IIRC, there have been some revision(s) that work to reduce the latency.
