Intel VC820 problems.

Hi i am having problems getting my new mother board to power up...
I have all of the required things I have a deer 300 watt powersupply I plug all of the pins in the right spots as instructed and it still doesnt work!

It took me a while of looking at the diagram to figure out what you were asking.

The square is pin 1, the circles are all of the other pins.

Oh, by the way, for your rig description: the motherboard you are using is an Intel Vancouver i820 motherboard which uses Direct RDRAM.

Prolly has nothing to do with the problem but Deer does not come to mind when I think of quality power sups. (we get them as replacements at work and they are DOA more often then I like)

Ok it is now booted up and I have video now all I have is the buge intel logo and intel desktop board and it doesnt go any farther.

Try clearing the BIOS and re-configureing it. Make sure it is detecting your drives, is it wanting a boot disk ?

No it isnt even powering up I had it into windows once! and I shut it down and plugged in my drives and I unplugged and it still wouldnt come back up./

hi nateholtrop, I, too, have this board(for better or worse...). here are some problems I ran into:

Samsung Rambus 123MB I bought was NOT compatible with it. There is a list that are compatible w/ VC820.

not having CRIMM in unused memeory socket.

cooling issue(though this may not apply to you)
