I'm lazy to look up or any researching.... too lazy. I used to be hardcore system bencher but that was nearly 10 years ago. I wanted to know how things have changed.is this a joke? the first page of the cpu forum is riddled with the answer to this

Would you buy Intel CPU, or AMD CPU? And why?
Thanks a tank.
There is no doubt in my mind that AMD has the highend market right now. Not only do they have double the cores, but they can run up to 4.2GHz! Intel has a lot of work to do to catch up. Hopefully they can stay afloat long enough because we need them for competition.Bulldozer has pushed AMD back into the lead. 8 cores > 4 cores, obviously.

Wow, thanks for the info. I'm overwhelmed. Great info.:thumbsup:Intel. The Celeron G530 is cheaper and faster than the Athlon II X2 260, the Pentium G630 will be shortly reduced to $75 and is faster than the Athlon II X3 445/450, the Pentium G850 will be shortly reduced to $85 and is faster than the Athlon II X3 460, the Athlon II X4 631 is $90 and better than all other options until $120. For $125 you'll have the Core i3-2120, better than the Phenom II X4 955/965. For $150 the Phenom II X6 1055T is better than anything until we get to $190, where starting with the i5-2400 Intel dominates everything else north. The i5-2400 is better than the FX-6100 and X6 1090/1100T, and obviously the i5-2500K is a better buy than the FX-8120 and 8150. The i7-2600K and up really have no competition.
it's ok, none taken. I don't need to build a system as I already have a 6 year old Intel Conroe core system running at 3.3ghz. It's plenty fast even now I think. I wanted to catch up CPU stuff as I've been way behind on things. It would be embarrassing for an I.T. to not know this stuff...Ok, this is not meant to be a flame. But if you are admitting to being "too lazy" (your words not mine) to do some research, then perhaps building your own system is really not for you?
I'm confused! now. Some guys here said AMD is faster while the others say Intel is better. Are ya saying Intel provides better performance bang for buck for end users like us? and AMD dominates in high end servers for businesses? Did I get this right?I'm convinced!
Which one? AMD? or Intel? what processorYou guys should check it out it's huge amount of cache. It is pure awesome.

You can't go wrong with Cyrix.
Is everyone forgetting ARM? It will be the #1 CPU once Win8 is released. And it will only use 2 Watts!

Some say it runs off a potato.
Nah, MIPS is where it's at. I mean, omg they so will supplant x86 in ALL THE APPLICATIONS!
This. AMD has a huge lead due to moar cores. It's really quite the comeback, they have Intel on their heels.
