The OEM X-25M 80GB Intel G2 SSD is back in stock at Tiger Direct.
Model Number: SSDSA2MH080G2C1

$254.99
-15% Bing Cash Back
= $216.74 (no tax to most states)

The drive DOES NOT show up on Tiger Direct's website unless you search for it by item number.
Item #: I69-7009

(I'm not linking directly to the drive since you need to go through Bing)

If you haven't used your $25 eBillMe Promo for Tiger Direct, that will knock the price down to $191.74. This is as low as I've ever seen this drive go for (it was around $190 at Newegg sometime around Black Friday).

The eBillMe Promo ends on 12/31, and the Bing Cashback could drop from 15% at any moment...so don't think about this one too long.

Thought you might be exicted. I just placed my order, waited for it to go through before posting this

Can't buy one right now...hell, I can't even test out my new OCZ 120GB Vertex because my new Biostar 1156 board died within 30 minutes of powering on this morning . Have to RMA that first...we'll see later!

From reading the rebate form, I would say no. Seems to be a first time user of eBillme, not just a first order from TD using eBillme (YMMV on this but the wording suggests no).

For first time use of eBillme as a payment method.

Now if you had done this one first, I think that you could have still do the ZZF $15 as it uses a coupon code. Once you use eBillme for first order, this seems to be void.

Still way too high a price for a... 80GB storage, no matter how you swing it.

People became spoiled by cheap harddrives. My first 20MB (yes, Megabyte) drives was $379.00 and was MFM (not even RLL). I had the interleave set wrong on it for 6 months (at 3 to 1 vs 4 to 1) so it ran at less than 25% of rated speed...but I didn't know because it was still blazingly fast compared to the floppy.

At least prices seem to have stabilized for now. Maybe they will drop in the coming quarters as supply builds up and new models are released.

Well, that's how technology is supposed to be :] Cheaper, bigger in capacity, smaller in size, faster. At least until Netbooks came and broke Moore's law. D:

The problem here is you are considering size as the only basis for what storage medium is worth. Factor in the things that makes SSDs superior... I feel the price premium is worth it.

Deal seems to be dead as I see "THIS ITEM IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE" on the page.

Using my link above, it still shows in stock and allows me to go to checkout. Just remember to add to cart and then go through the Bing link for 15% cash back.

Bing cash back down to 8% for TD. Takes a big bite out of this deal (but still not a terrible price after 8% and eBillme $25 rebate).

I got in on the BCB 15% and eBillme $25 rebate deal, but this morning I get an email from TigerDirect saying the order is on hold. No reason was given, just told to call an 800 number "to expedite your order processing." Anyone else get this?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

That's standard on an eBillme order until payment is received by eBillme (from your bank's online billpay - you have to set that up and pay it). Once you send in your payment to eBillme, they will release it to TD to ship.

Tiger is trying to expedite it by you calling in an paying with a credit card.

Hell yeah - me too! I called the 800, and they told me that it was just a formality for eBillMe orders, until the payment arrives. She said (Sat 4th) that it had arrived and the SSD was shipping that day.

BUT this morning, I get a different email that now says my drive is on BACKORDER ("Due to an unusually large response, we are temporarily out of stock on the item").
Seems like they penalize you for using eBillMe, because the drive was in stock both when I ordered and when I called the 800 number. They are apparently filling the orders as they are paid, not as they are purchased.
