Intel X25-M G2 160GB SATA2 SSD refurb $57.99 @ NEwegg

Go to SSDs, drill down as mfg HP, they were $57.99 ea last time I checked. They had both the X25-M G2 model as well as the Intel 320 model. (You can tell from the pictures.)

I ordered a couple, and they had less than 6TB written. Intel SSD toolbox said it had 98% life left.

Edit: 1/2/2015 - Newegg raised the price of the X25-M G2 model to $64.99, and the Intel 320 model to $59.99.

yep, super good deal for the 320, although I never noticed much of a performance difference between the G2 and G3 (320) X-25M. The G3 does, however, have power-less protection.

The G2s are excellent SSDs. I bought 2 of them back in 2011 for $360 each!

Ditto. I have two G2's still going strong as daily drivers from 2009 and just retired my G1 about a year ago and still have a 520 in my other machine. The G3/320 is a bit slower in theory, right?

According to Newegg's specs on the drives, the G3 has around half the seq. write speed of the G2. This makes sense, because the G3 (Intel 320) uses more dense NAND, which means that it has half of the controller channels populated on the drive, for the same capacity of drive.

However, the G3 adds encryption and power-loss protection.
