The coupon code does 10% across the board on your entire cart purchase. Not restricted to specific items.

I'll be quiet now since i don't want to get in trouble

I ordered my E3110 Thursday afternoon. It arrived this morning and it is a new retail boxed cpu with the smaller heat-sink. I knew about the smaller heat-sink shipped with these Xeons before I ordered. I already had the Freezer 7 Pro I intend to use. I'm very happy with the price and speed of the transaction.

Jah, the Xeons come with smaller heatsinks for some reason (there's a photo comparison somewhere, showing the Xeon's sink looking rather squat next to the E8400's). You'd think a 'server cpu' would come with superior cooling, if anything. Also, the Xeon's sink is all aluminium, whereas I believe there may be a copper insert within the E8400's heatsink? I suspect I'll want to pick up an aftermarket cooling solution at some point -- definitely if I want to indulge in some overclocking.

If only FedEx would bother to ring me when they don't find me home. Or provide a way for me to ring them. It's the 21st century, and there's no way for us to contact individual drivers en route? And why bother asking me for a 'delivery telephone number', if they're never going to ring me? DHL did bother to ring me when I wasn't home for their shipment a couple of months ago: as I work literally down the street, the driver simply drove on a few hundred metres and met me out in the street. I wish FedEx would do the same. Well, a friend has agreed to sit in my flat and wait for FedEx tomorrow. He'll be getting a free pack of Dunhills as compensation...

Xeons have a lower core VID spread (you can see this in coretemp software) in use at STOCK speed
Thats why the supplied HSF is small
I posted this e8400 vs 3110 link in the e8400 thrd, but I guess its worthwhile here too
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/653317
Note that if you overclock you may still have to go to same extended voltage as e8400
Some say they overclock better, some say they overclock to same speed at reduced voltages, but as with all CPU YMMV
I do know they will do low to moderate overclocks at SUPRISING low volts
Taking everything into consideration, IMHO I think the 3110 is actually a smarter purchase than the e8400

@byronm
I appreciate your coming here to explain - gives the consumer more confidence in the order viability

I tried to place an order for a different item with the 10% code. It initially worked but when I go to checkout the price reverts back to the pre-discount price.

edit: cleared the cache and it seemed to work.

As others may have read, Moogr.com is Owned by Strasburg Technology Inc which was incorporated in 2006 in PA. We have primarily been an IT services company and are moving on to other projects of which Moogr.com is a rather large one.

I've been using computers for the past 20+ years, from running BBS's to running ERP systems for fortune 500 companies. I've always been an ambitious young chap (which my wife sometimes detests) and Moogr.com is my proud baby - figuratively and literally. The name is from my daughter when she was 2, barely 3 years old would always tell me to get off the "moogr" (stop working on the 'puter) and play with her. Its a dedication to her and i love it.

Ingenuity.net is a critical partner in our site and we love what they have enabled us to do. I would recommend them for any large scale e-commerce project any day of the week.

As for the products, we have relationships with multiple distributors, our own fulfillment facility as well as manufacture direct in some cases (and growing on a daily basis). IF a distributor drops the ball, we will work to correct it asap.

As for our reviews - i've said it before - it takes an honest mistake to get 10 bad reviews and a miracle to get one good review. We sold nearly 75 skus a day of the cpus for the past week across the board and as you can see we have only four recent reseller reviews.

Your feedback is appreciated and again, thanks for choosing us and i hope the mods don't mind me jumping into a thread about us. I tend to get to pro-active sometimes.

Hey, good to know you're a member here. I recently placed an order for the OEM x3350 but it's backordered. Any way to reasonably know when it'll come back in stock? Also do you guys have a warehouse out in CA since I was charged sales tax.

I'm wondering if the intent was to make the HSF fit a 2U chassis? At stock speeds the chip certainly runs cool enough to work with that dinky thing.

I expect small shipments every couple of days for the time being. We're sourcing from multiple distributors on these to get them shipped out as soon as possible..

I received my 3110 and I'm incredibly happy! I'm looking forward to seeing Moogr grow, especially if there are the occasional 10% off coupons

Indeed. I got X3350 from Moogr today, which is a day early thanks to FedEx. (I hate UPS BTW for this reason...usually takes 4 days for their 3 day shipping) Ordered on Sunday morn and got here on Wed before noon. Nice work Moogr / Byron.

Received the Xeon E3110 today on FedEx's second attempt. The package still bore the small bits of tape that read Intel factory sealed, though the Intel box itself was not wrapped in plastic (I don't believe they usually are). Inside were the Xeon chip packaged with the cooler, which indeed was relatively short. The packing slip indicated that it was a drop shipment.

The label reads:

PROD CODE BX80570E3110
S-SPEC SLAPM
MM# 895888
FPO/BATCH# Q746A545

Unfortunately I can't build anything with this cpu before April, when I return from my girlfriend's with my Abit IP35-E and Antec Neo HE 500W. The only bit of kit I still require is a SATA optical drive (I don't want to try to boot and instal from an IDE optical drive, pain in the arse...). I wish Newegg would offer free shipping on the Pioneer drive...

If everyone is getting such great pricing and service, they should absolutely leave feedback with resellerratings or other similar sites.

I ordered a Blu-Ray/HD drive for my HTPC last night and if it ships out today I got a pretty good deal.

110% agreed.

Here's hoping I get my tax return in time to use the 10% off coupon.

Hmmm, ordered 18 hours ago, paid for Rush processing, still says my order is "In Process".

Sent an email to their sales address earlier today, have not yet received a response.

Not pleased so far... tried to call a moment ago; must have just missed them as they are now closed.

Recieved mine today it's a SLAPM mfg date 3/13/08

If you don't need anyone from moogr.com to call you back then it's an o.k. place to shop.
IMO Their customer service is lacking.

I ordered my LG GGC-H20L drive for my HTPC last night/early this morning (plays both BR and HD). It looks like I should have it by Friday at about $30 less than Newegg.

ordered an e3110 tuesday night(they were listed as in-stock), still says processing. can't get a hold of anyone on the phone there. sends me to a voicemail after about 5-10min on hold. left a message yesterday, no one has called back. happy with the price, not crazy about service thus far.

We're still playing catchup on all voicemails/calls. Hired another person who starts Monday so every call should get a first answer instead of triggering voicemail..

We have a few orders of e3110's that are going out today and our international orders should be going out today as well.

Looking at probably disabling anything but US and Canada orders for the time being because of processing to other countries is expensive/difficult and heavy on the paperwork

Thank you for the update. A new eTailer is great news!
I put in for a pre-order for the Q9450, would you happen to have an idea of when they might be coming in?
