I was curious if any of you could provide what you guys thought of the Wireless Intellimouse Explorer or the Intellimouse Explorer (latest version).

Like it? No? Yes? Good? Bad?

i have the intellimouse explorer 3.0, very comfortable because of good ergonnomic design, cool side buttons adds some neat features. you can customize these buttons to do almost anything.
i considered about the wireless one before i got the wired one, but some reviews suggested that it performed poorly in fps games, so that turned me away from purchasing it.

Wireless mice use batteries which can be a pain. The batteries are heavier than without so it will weight considerably more than a cord mouse.

Interference can occur with cordless mice if u modify a lot of ur equiptment like me hehe

At a LAN party where more than 1 person has a cordless explorer there will be problems. (Unless there are different channels to choose from)

Go with the explorer 3.0 cord mouse. I love the feel of it (my dad has one). My friend has a logitech mouseman duel optic and that one's pretty good too.

I have the "33% faster" Explorer and the Wireless Explorer:
The regular Explorer is OK for normal use, but not for gaming (Though I use it anyway for it's additional buttons)
The Wireless is horrible for anything but just "web surifng" (Even Minesweeper is unplayable with it) because if it's delay (IE, you move and click when your cursor is where it belongs but it continues to move and clicks later because of the delay)
I STRONGLY recommend the Intellimouse Pro and Wheel Mouse.
The Pro's buttons wears out quickly like all Logitech mice, but it's the most comfortable and best fitting (though low DPI, it doesn't seem to matter).
The Wheel Mouse just moves and works great.
I wan't to see a dual-optical black "Sidewinder Gaming Mouse"with extra side buttons and an un-clickable wheel (You can't use it quickly without pushing the damn thing!).

How much you want for that last one? I'm desperate here...this regular Intellimouse USB works good for regular windows browsing, but I can't rail right with it...
And don't give me some absurd price either.. I've already tried a dozen searches for finding an Intellimouse Pro online, but haven't found anything yet.

BTW: remind me to show you these ID pics I found...

I like my original Intellimouse Explorer. I have tried the new 3.0 version and I like the shape of the new design, but I don't like the fact that the buttons on the side are smaller than they were before. That's my only quip about the new Explorer, it looks good other than that.

Actually, I thought the old Explorer looked better, but the buttons were too easilly accidentally pressed while browsing the web (And I lost many a long-typed Anandtech post because of it before I disabled them). The new one is too small, and looks like those whack Logitech mice.

I just switched one of my machines over to the wireless intellimouse. I am extremely happy with the ergonomics and the accuracy. I haven't noticed any kind of delay mentioned here, however I am only using it for application work and no gaming. I will have to try a game to see if there is an issue. I hope not since I am considering changing my home machine over to this mouse.

I had the wireless explorer for 2 weeks before I sold it.
It was unusable IMO even for browsing and Windows apps.
The lag/delay was untolerable for me.
However it did have a more comfortable design than the regular explorer AND the 3.0.

I just got a 3.0 and getting used to its grip.
Usability-wise, it's great... haven't really noticed a huge different between the 3.0 and the regular.

If you crave wireless optical, try Logitech. My friend has one and it is noticeably better.

I bought the original IntelliMouse Explorer right when it came out (the one with 2 buttons on the left side and meant for right handers) and I love it! I have no comment on Wireless one though.

When I first got the wireless I didn't really feel as connected to the PC as with wires. I was sold on the shape as the mouse totally fits my hand. Three months later I've gotten used to the floaty feedback feeling the mouse gives, love the exra buttons and having no mouse wire is a great feature all in itself...
