Gee whiz, Clover Trail+!
Nvidia did quite well this year. Qualcomm did really well, too.
Intel...come on.

New Atom uarch with Silvermont is first to come in Q4.
By then ARM would already be so overpowered for phones and tablets that it won't matter.
And not to forget: Next year nVidia will have Tegra 4i on the market in real devices. So there is no room for another cpu architecture until Intel gets there modem ready. Until then nVidia and Qualcom have the whole market for them.
In the tablet and low end market A15 will rule everything in the same power consumption room. Tegra 4 is nearly 3x faster than Clover Trail and 33% slower than the IB in the Surface Pro (Geekbench, Sunspider, Kraken).
I don't see a future for ATOM.

atom is such a damaged brand, they really should rename their lines
Indeed, every time I hear Atom, I think of the single core netbook processors that drag as much as a Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz desktop and can't do HD playback.

What's wrong with Clover Trail+? Its 2C/4T CPU and new GPU does well even against the likes of quad core Snapdragons and Tegras. The only disappointment is LTE support which will only be coming much much later.Gee whiz, Clover Trail+!

haha this is the same thing that comes into my mind when I see "Atom". Those stupid Dell netbooks that performed like a 486 without the turbo on.
Thank the Gods for GMA Booster, without it Youtube would be a slideshow.
LTE support is the main reason for people that want to buy a new phone :hmm:

If there is something worse of seeing some idiot trying to do some work real work on an ipad 3, its your own experience of web browsing on an single core Atom on a 10 inch low res screen.
Nice. I had a rep take me out to lunch last week. He brought his iPad with him to use for our lunch meeting. He only used it to take notes and when he finished up, I asked him what types of things he uses the iPad for. He said mainly for note taking. Now I know there are probably some apps out there that are productivity apps and what not, but $500 for a touch screen note pad dude......
Next time, let him show you your notes at the end. Its probably just rubbish, but he is trained to pretend he listen very carefully to you. And he does that by pretend to take a lot of notes.
Obviously an expensive ipad is the best product for that
