i'm not voting because liquid pro and solder are not equivalents in many regards. Maybe they are close in transfer efficiency, but otherwise they are very different. I want soldered chips, not liquidpro or TIM chips where the quality of the junction degrades over time.

The point of the poll questions is the thermal transfer. It's implied that whatever solution is chosen would maintain adequate performance. Intel is not going to sell chips that degrade under normal conditions.

Same. Looks like for now, the eXtreme line is the only option that has left. Don't care about the poll specifics much.

Not many people actually use CL Pro between the die and IHS. A few do, but most seem to use CL Ultra. And since when did applications of Ultra in such a scenario degrade over time? It doesn't pump out like many pastes.

I have no idea. I think Shintai posted a link that was supposed to show that Liquid Pro won't work (as a TIM and solder replacement for mass production) but I didn't follow it to check the strength of the evidence because until there's evidence solder won't work it's pretty much moot unless you plan to delid (which this topic is about preventing the need for).
