According to that site, 3 people injured/killed in a 5 mile radius from my home. One was an outright murder that I. Another appears to be a single incident with one fatal and one non-fatal shooting in an accident.

They also display a non-fatal incident of a cop shooting a perp that must not be counted in their 3.

Honestly, I'm OK with those stats.

Color me cynical but I'm betting at least some of these guns were actually being controlled by humans at the time of the shootings. Propaganda site is propaganda.

Interesting. I didn't need to look: two cops were shot two miles down the road by Christopher Dorner, at a intersection through which I frequently pass.

And the map doesn't show the SB attack, maybe 20 miles from here.

Pretty much any shooting near me was the result of home owner defending their household, drug related - criminal on criminal, or suicide.

I'd really love for the FBI to track these with greater detail in regard to the the background of the shooter and the one shot.

There are a few domestic violence shootings when I zoom out, but what I want to know is simply this... Was the shooter in those cases also a repeat criminal offender? In other words, did he or she have a propensity in the past or current to commit crime? Did they have a history of being violent? If so it might be worth noting versus a domestic shooting where there were no prior behavior records. It matters as it should be important to note EXACTLY what the stats are in regard to gun ownership versus criminal use.

Five, two fatal and three non-fatal, both fatal shootings committed by cops. Two of the non-fatal ones were committed by the same people (armed robbery of a neighborhood twice in a row), the other a robbery at a fast food place. Not particularly terrifying, especially since my specific area is mostly white and Asian, and the shootings all happened on the periphery of the radius, committed by minorities disproportionately over-represented in violent crime. I feel bad for good law-abiding people that have to live in those areas, but thankfully the crime in those communities is their problem, and I have no fear of my neighbors owning guns.

I didn't feel like entering my info into that site but I know of one murder just a few blocks away. Some kid murdered his sister because she wouldn't get off the phone. Then a couple miles away some geezer drove over his wife, murdering her, during an argument.

Weird, not one shooting before 30 miles? I don't live in a huge city, but it is just under 20k, map also blank including the somewhat near town of 10k. Gonna have to check this more tomorrow at work. Kinda late for me now.

1 killed and one injured about 5 miles away, but I know that area and surprised it wasn't higher actually.

My brother even lived in that complex a few years ago.

NO! These guns are out of control! They bust out of gun safes, ram magazines in their butts, and go on wild killing sprees! They may look like inanimate objects with no innate motivation, but don't be fooled, they're cold, steely, killers.

Lol nah it's just the city. Street I live on has homes that sell 2+ mil. I quit my job in south humboldt in september, if I were to do that address it would prob double, 5 min away from me.

At most, 1-2 nonfatal within 3 miles. The site doesn't seem to locate my address, and the autotracking puts me 5 miles from where I really am. Work isn't even 1/4mi away so no point in a separate check.

My old place near the city is around a 21-shooting cluster (6 fatal, 15 nonfatal, 4 involving police), these are all the known bad parts of the city.
