Work: There have been 11 shootings within a 1-mile radius of this point in the past year, 1 fatal and 10 non-fatal. The closest shooting was 0.00 miles away.
Home: There have been 2 shootings within a 1-mile radius of this point in the past year, 0 fatal and 2 non-fatal. The closest shooting was 0.69 miles away. (Although this is based on the center point; one of the shootings in my subdivision, hardly 0.69 miles away.)
I particularly like "Violent crime has fallen drastically since the 1990s, but guns stubbornly claim a disproportionate share of American misery, with rate of firearms-related death largely holding steady for the past 15 years." Color me cynical but I'm betting at least some of these guns were actually being controlled by humans at the time of the shootings. Propaganda site is propaganda.
Five, two fatal and three non-fatal, both fatal shootings committed by cops. Two of the non-fatal ones were committed by the same people (armed robbery of a neighborhood twice in a row), the other a robbery at a fast food place. Not particularly terrifying, especially since my specific area is mostly white and Asian, and the shootings all happened on the periphery of the radius, committed by minorities disproportionately over-represented in violent crime. I feel bad for good law-abiding people that have to live in those areas, but thankfully the crime in those communities is their problem, and I have no fear of my neighbors owning guns.
EDIT: I did the 3-mile radius btw.
There has been 1 shooting within a 1-mile radius of this point in the past year, 0 fatal and 1 non-fatal. The closest shooting was 0.72 miles away.
There have been 9 shootings within a 1-mile radius of this point in the past year, 6 fatal and 3 non-fatal. The closest shooting was 0.46 miles away.
I live in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Denver but Colfax cuts right through it, LQ's, hookers, bars, gun shops, head shops and pot shops, everything you need to get your crime on.
Damn dude, that is almost a war zone.
There have been 4 shootings within a 5-mile radius of this point in the past year, 2 fatal and 2 non-fatal. The closest shooting was 3.30 miles away.
Nope. People kill people, whether using guns or knives or clubs or forks or strangulation.People don't kill people. Bullets kill people.
Accuracy not found.
You'd think a partisan hack page would get the killings right.
