Interesting fact about the CDC, they are funded in part by tobacco taxes that kill 1300 Americans every day

So what are the options then?

1. Ban smoking

2. Don't tax cigs

3. Tax them, but give the money to someone besides the CDC; money for the CDC has to come from elsewhere

4. Keep on taxing and giving to the CDC

Unless I missed an alternative, these are your options, pick one. Nobody sane believes you can ban smoking, so the realistic options left are to tax it or don't tax it. If you tax it, the money has to go somewhere. Whether that money goes to the CDC, to Bill Gates or nowhere at all, it will have NO effect on the number of people smoking and dying of smoking...might as well put it to good use is the way I see it.

Effectively banning the sale of cigarettes sure sounds like big government to me.

What you really mean is you want big government for things you don't like, and small government for yourself.
LOL so when the government legalizes heroin as they are this is not big government controlling the masses.

Go overclock your cpu and pretend it makes you faster

Hi Slow!

Are you such an f'in' coward that you can't post under your own name after the humiliating defeat of your loser Trump at the polls?

Legalize fentanyl in fentanyl clinics, all one can snort.

One dose ends all

Cigarettes only kill slower allowing for the fools to pay tax

Yea I do not average more that 14 miles per hour on a hundred mile ride. How fast are you at your favorite computer game. I bet you beat all the 8 year olds

Anytime you feel fast just let me know

I think it was the grenade tossing that did it.
Typical deplorable instead of saying “I was wrong” they shout & scream like a child that they didn’t say it.

This guy seems more like Speedy than slow - Speedy was always all about bragging about how much he could lift as if that made him less dumb.

They seem equally dumb, but at least Speedy could actually lift and had some knowledge there. On the other hand, 100 miles at 14 mph on a nice road bike is like a summer of casual training away for most people.

0/10, can’t even get its bragging right.

This guy is just another right-wing troll who fixates on one factoid at first an then spews out bizarre comments in an attempt to enrage those of us here who actually think through arguments.
I'm probably a day away from adding him to my lovely automated ignore list; I just don't like to use extra energy physically ignoring troll posts and threads.

So now we're on too legalizing opiates and handing them out.
Doesn't like big government but does want the government to set up stations to kill any citizen that attempts to use them.

We've got ourselves a brilliant public policy mind here!

Fentanyl addiction is disproportionately a problem in Trump-voting areas. Whatever one might want to conclude from that (honestly not sure how I feel about that fact, myself).

Did you put all your cash into CPU's instead of semiconductor stocks. I can't stand Apple products, but that did not stop me from buying the stock. Or did you vote for Biden because you want to pay 44 percent instead of 28 percent cap gains tax.

You do pay capital gains taxes right?

What's your plan to reduce smoking further?

You tell yourself that. How many people were gunned down in Oboobas Chicago today?

I voted for Biden because I watched a clip of him riding a bike faster and further than you. Not hard to do though, even at 78.

Also love that we've moved on to insinuation that people on this forum are poor or not rich enough to pay cap gains taxes. That never really works here, it's a wealthy tech forum and most people here probably make more than you. I do pay cap gains taxes, more or less wouldn't really affect my lifestyle but it's worth it to listen to the pathetic greedy trolls cry about it.

Yup it’s Taj

Spyder, surely?

Though they do all seem pretty interchangeable.

If it is Slow, back in new packaging, it makes me wonder why he's so weirdly fixated on the single topic of smoking. I can't say I feel very strongly about that issue either way - haven't known many people with the habit, and hardly ever find myself having to breath in others' smoke - in my lifetime it's been in decline as the public health campaigns against it (including taxes) seem to have been relatively successful.

I just wish there'd be a similar campaign against driving - a vice that affects the air that I breath far more than smoking does.

Biden's capital gains tax increase would not be 44%, it would be 39% - FOR PEOPLE WHOSE ANNUAL INCOME IS ALREADY 1 MILLION PER YEAR. That will roughly affect about .2% of the population in any given year.
