"Message text for users attempting to log on": is a long multiline message.
"Message title for users attempting to log on": is a one-liner.
Both are being pushed from the domain controller. On one PC, it reads fine. On the problematic PC's (the ones recently imaged with Win2k SP3 and updated to SP4... the working machines are all SP4), the banner is truncated after the first comma.
Commas are introduced during the push from the domain controller to the workstations because they are line delimiters. But instead of going to the next line, on the recently-imaged machines, it's truncating the message. Comparing the effective settings for the logon banner, they're the same... so the domain controller is pushing the message to all the machines, but they're reading it differently.
Any thoughts?
Edit: The server pushing it is a Windows 2003 domain controller. It appears to be a known issue.
