Interesting Morning...

Came to work this morning at City Hall to a distraught co-worker. Something to do with her brother who's on hospice. She worked herself up so much that she had a severe panic/anxiety attack. Had to call 911 and they put her on a stretcher and loaded her up. She was in the ambulance in the parking lot for about 30 mins when they finally stabilized her. She refused to go to the hospital and but she went home.

Cool story bro...

JK I'm glad she's ok but as I understand, she's very stubborn about going to the doctor etc.

We pay an ambulance fee with our water/sewer bill...about $40/month, plus we pay a 9-1-1 fee with our property taxes...however, if the fire department aid car transports you to the local hospital, (about 25 miles) you get billed around $3000.

San Jose just approved a $427 "first responder fee" where they'll bill your insurance. They say they won't 'go after individuals, and that they'll only charge when they perform services similar to what would be done in clinics etc.: https://www.ktvu.com/news/san-jose-first-responder-fee

Yowza! Brings back memories when I was the safety guy at work. Had to call a few ambulances for people and had to run some people to the hospital myself. I am so glad I don't have to deal with that stuff anymore.

TSB, your story reminds me of the time someone took some prescription pills that were not hers and had a reaction and we had to call an ambulance.
