My take on the whole "transition team" thing. Trump really didn't give it much though as, up until he won, not even he really expected to win (and in some ways, I think he was trying to lose, but that is a different conversation). So he let some of these miscellaneous people hang around in an area that he thought was going to be irrelevant. Now that he has won, he has to get serious about the transition. So he puts Pence in charge, who immediately begins forming the team as it was promised, and the people on the outs are starting to spread disinformation. I do think they will get their feet under them and make a good transition (its been a WEEK, nobody has ever had anything done in the first week).

There is more scrutiny on Trump than any other president-elect in recent memory... and any little thing is going to be blown up as a "gotcha" moment designed to make him and his team look like they don't know what they are doing. I think putting Pence in charge was the best move he could have made. Christie wreaks of corruption (never liked him), and had built the team with the same Washington insiders that have always been there. I think Pence was given the order to make good on the direction Trump promised in his campaign. Yeah, its going to be a bit messy at the start... change always is. But they will get their sea-legs quickly.

Then again, I am trying to explain to rabid liberals still butt hurt that they lost, so...

I've put up with years and years of hubris and arrogance...it's refreshing to finally see reality pop all the bubbles and expose the echo chambers for what they were. I figured that I'd get a little time to gloat. Hoping the best for Trump and our country....and as I've been told on numerous occasions...elections have consequences...and I'm finally OK with that. How about you?

Just trying to figure out where love can fit in to all of this. All I see is massive self hate everywhere I look, damaged egos seeking affirmation, retribution, and redemption. And I watch in amazement at all the certain knowledge on all sides as to what the consequences will be. How the fuck can everybody know so so much and I don't know anything. I may be a fucking idiot, but I can still hear the birds sing and feel the sun on my skin, sometimes. Half the country thinks we've dived off a cliff and the other half is whistling fuck you sucker.

Only if the consequences don't hurt us further. People say give him a chance... fine but a chance to do what? We have no idea what his actual positions are, you usually have a general clue with most candidates. Do I want to give him the chance to destroy SS & Medicare, put 20+ million off healthcare, etc.? Nope, I don't.

So what you are saying here, in a nutshell, is you hope Trump fails? Didn't you libs get your shit in a bind when the same thing was said about Obama?

I am pretty sure you know what his positions are and what he wants to do if you have been paying the slightest bit of attention. If not, it is only a Google search away.

Is half the country really doing that or just the vocal emotional ones that speak for them? Maybe it's time for you to direct your attention away from the hate peddlers among us.

it's Obama, grow up and show some f*cking respect. i can't even imagine calling even the sh*ttiest president's we have had like Nixon or W anything but by their actual names or common nicknames/abbreviations.

Bite me. Spare me your indignation, I'll call him whatever I like, and that's the name he earned over the past 8 years. If you don't like it, tough. Feel free to call him what you want.

I'm sure you where whining about people calling W all sorts of derogatory names, or people referring to Trump with all sorts of names. Right. Of course.

His positions change daily so that's no help.
I hope he fails at further hurting the country. yes. If he comes up with some brilliant plan for healthcare that surpasses the ACA and costs less while delivering the same or better outcomes, Great I'll be the first to thank him. If he brings back jobs and does so without damaging consequences, I'll thank him again. Until then, color me very sceptical.

it's has nothing to do with indignation, it is called common decency, respect and acting like an adult. if it's the name he earned over the past 8 years, why were you calling him obummer before that and at the beginning of his presidency? because you are full of shit is why.

I'm sure you where whining about people calling W all sorts of derogatory names, or people referring to Trump with all sorts of names. Right. Of course.

like i said, i don't call W or Trump anything but by their accepted names and abbreviations. the irony of you acting like a child and then complaining about other people whining is delicious though.

Saturday Night Live will have an absolute struck-it-rich gold mine of material for their show for four whole years.

And the easiest part of it all is that for most of their scripting all they have to do is write their dialogue verbatim, true to life.

Direct my attention away from what you have drawn attention to as hate paddlers? I described a schism in American society I believe is real and to which your personal emphasis need not apply.

So your worldview was validated by the opinion of some rust belt rednecks; sounds about right.

Did Hillary above and beyond getting elected?

Above and beyond centrists in general?

Perhaps the most interesting thing about this election is how Trump voters have been induced to mis-identify the cause of their malaise. The Job Creators dumped 'em.

The whole thing reminds me of a cargo cult.

The jobs that are gone will stay gone, with few exceptions. American Capitalists are heavily invested in offshore facilities. The price of labor & distribution are so low that only tariffs high enough to stifle consumption will bring them back. They're also heavily invested in automation & robotics. We even have lights out production-

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lights_out_(manufacturing)

We're being rendered obsolete, particularly those of us lacking specialized skills.

We won't make America great again until we recognize that reality & shed enough pride to move to a higher level of organization than obsolete ideas allow.

Donald Trump = Andrew Jackson of 21st century
I highly doubt Trump will rival one of the most effective Presidents the USA ever had. His campaign and roll-out (at least so far) have been pretty much seat of the pants cluster-f*cks. The situation reminds more of the court of Louis XIV with all its palace intrigues and major policy decisions being made for foolish personal reasons. Let them eat cake will be the new administration's motto.

Sarah Palin as Secretary of the Interior? Isn't there anyone at Monsanto or Acme Mining that is willing to bid more for the position? Fortunately Cabinet positions require Senate approval-and the whole country has been trained in the go slow technique practiced for the last eight years. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

In any event, he better have a REAL Secretary of Defense ready to go on Day One. Every single major power and/or "bad guy" on the international scene is going to test Trump and test him hard.

Hopefully Trump can pack the SCOTUS to get rid of all these damn regulations.
I see Ginsberg was performing in an opera. I think she's going out of her way to let everyone know that she's hot going anywhere. I will meditate on her staying healthy.
