I picked up the ePlate when I saw the sale posted here.
It is a tiny thing! It's smaller & lighter than my girlfriend's Vadem Clio, but I miss the keyboard and the swiveling screen that the Clio has. Anyway, I got it for wireless web browsing, not writing novels.
Sadly, I haven't had any luck getting it to recognize my Linksys WPC11 802.11b card.
I'm using the Compaq WL100 drivers for WinCE 2.11, and I can setup all the parameters in the control panel applet. But, when I check the Link panel, I get an error message that the card cannot be recognized.
The red power LED is on, and the green LED is blinking occasionally. It eventually times out with an error that DHCP settings could not be retrieved. (And the card works in my laptop, and the Vadem Clio.)
Anyone have better luck than me?
Thanks,
Erik

<< Anyone know about using an 802.11b PCMCIA in these? Hell, even a regular ethernet could be useful. And 1 USB = full size keyboard! >>
Yep....long as there's drivers for the OS it's running....standard PCMCIA slot. >>
I managed to have my $50 Microcenter D-Link DWL500 (DWL650 PCMCIA card) to work with this ePlate, using the COMPAQ WL100 driver for Windows CE 2.11.
A very cool wireless internet tablet for under $300. >>
How did you install the drivers? I bought a Compaq wireless pc card that supposedly works for Windows CE, but when I run the setup on my main computer with the Hitachi attached to it by the serial cable, it says that the device isn't supported and only shows Jot as an upgrade option or something >>
