Intergrated video a bad thing anymore?

What I mean by bad, is by purchasing a board and then deciding to put a high end card in, will it be an issue turning off the intergrated. In the P4 days, there was lots of problems turning it off and still having it show in windows, etc......

I notice good MB's come with some kind of integrated video + PCI-e slots. The ones that don't, also seem to be weak on other features.

I've never had a problem with it automaticaly disabling using an AMD setup and 2 different Intel i3/H55 setups in windows 7.

Shouldn't be. I've used both a 790GX AMD setup as well as an Intel i3 (which is what I'm typing on right now). They're all pretty good these days.

Hmm, I don't think it's a bad thing. Especially when nVidia decides to re-enable hybrid power on their motherboards (wish they did so I can shut off my GTX 275 soon-to-be-SLI when not in use, running an MSI NF980-G65 motherboard). I mean, that would be two less graphics cards consuming power when just idling.
