Intermittent "sticking" of Windows key

This is a weird one. Now and then, my computer starts acting as if the Windows key were stuck. For example, I hit E and the Explorer window comes up. I hit F and the Search box comes up. And so on.

On my old keyboard I used to handle this with great finesse: I would jab at the Windows/Alt/Ctrl keys (not having quite thought through which one was causing the problem), and if that failed, I would whomp the keyboard with both fists. Usually this worked. After a few months of this, I replaced the keyboard with a brand new one, figuring it was a keyboard problem.

Now my new keyboard (Logitech Access keyboard) is doing the SAME THING. Motherboard issue??

Running a relatively recent build of Athlon X2, ASUS M2A-VM, 2GB RAM, Vista Home Premium...

Start->Control Panel->Accessibility Options

It seems you have sticky keys on. Press left-shift five times quickly and you'll see the prompt; just turn it off in the control panel.

Whack it harder ? Nah, just kidding hehe. I had this happen on a schoolcomputer, but I couldn't change it. Do as roguestar says and you should be fine. Sounds like someone is perhaps messing with you

^ If they block access to the control panel you can still sometimes access the subsection by hitting left-shift five times and clicking "settings" in the dialog box.
