I live in a small town. About a year or so ago, we switched wireless internet companies because a new place opened in town which was cheaper and faster. They recently closed and we went back to the old service. We never had a lick of problems with them before so we got service from them again about two weeks ago. Since then, our internet constantly goes in and out. It could be out for minutes or hours. We have complained numerous times and they seem to be getting upset at us for calling and blaming us or our router, etc. We still have this problem even when we skip the router and plug directly into a computer. They have came out numerous times changing settings and a wire from their poe adapter to the router / computer. Everytime they come out, the internet magically starts working again.
Today, just before the installer comes out the internet starts working again after being out for at least 5 hours. After he's here for a few minutes checking things out the internet goes out. He ends up replacing the antenna and poe adapter. I suggest running a temp line from the antenna for poe adapter which he does. Still doesn't work until he calls in and they upload a file or something. Everything is now working. He ends up leaving and taking the temp cable with him. A few hours later after the installer comes out, the internet gets really slow and goes out for 1 minute or so. After that everything is fine again until 7 hours later when the internet starts going in and out for a good 30 minutes and is back to normal again.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
We're tired of calling. The only thing we can think of is the cable they installed from the antenna to poe adapter is bad. They stapled it to parts of the house and we think they might have put a staple through the wire. The other thing we've noticed is that the neighbors who also have their service don't have this problem since I can connect to their internet and it works perfectly fine. I have an extra cable laying around and I was thinking of hooking it up myself to see if it's just the cable that's bad.
