Internet Connection Problems! I am out of solutions!

Curious question and may have been stated elsewhere in the thread and I missed it but have you cloned your PC's MAC address onto your router?

I was thinking that too. But since OP never talk about it, I just assumed he didn't.

Yeah I have done it. I have messed with literally every single setting my router has. I never thought a router setting could cause the problem. All default settings out of the box, it still does this. I have run tons of networks before, but I only have had this problem in my current house.

I have had this problem for over a year. I haven't had the ups for even two weeks yet.

Is it possible that your ISP does not have correct MAC info about your modem? But in that case, most situation will be that modem reboot itself, not the router.

I don't know. I have called the isp numerous times about the issue, and they always say everything seems fine on their end that they can tell. They have sent a guy out to check things out twice, and both times couldn't find a problem.

I think it is possible that the problem could be wiring. It doesn't make any sense at all though. The router gets shut on and off randomly as if it is losing, but only when connected to the modem. The ups filters the electricity going to the modem and the router, and even filters the coaxial cable connection itself. I have gone through like 4 routers that all have this problem, and two different cable modems. Nothing seems to work.

Anyway, I suggest that find the MAC address on your modem, call the ISP and verify that they have the correct MAC address, at the same time, ask them to test the signal remotely again.

Sounds like your signal is too weak and losing its signal to the router.

Would that cause the router to completely turn off though? That's what seems to happen, all the lights on the router shut off and then it seems to boot back up, exact same thing happens if I unplug the power and plug it back in.
