Internet Connection Sharing problem, need help?

I tried to setup home network under win 98 second edit but I have a problem with ICSharing. Whenever I check the box of ICSharing in Add/remove window, I will see yellow circle with exclaimination symbol next to ICSharing adapter in control pannel/system/device manager/network adapters/internet connection sharing. Check properties/device status it said: the NDIS.VXD device loader for this device couldn't load the device driver. Anyone can help me with this. If I get over this I hope I can share internet connection with others.

I think what your problem is that while you were coping files from your SE disc either when you installed ICS or were installing files for network protocols you skipped NDIS.VXD file (this could have happened when windows said it couldn't find that file so you just clicked "skip file"). Doing this for any file can cause you big problems later(I found this out the hard way). Try uninstalling ICS and remove all of your protocols and try reinstalling them again w/o skipping any files(maybe even go as far as removing the network card drivers and rebooting and reinstalling them too).

I haven't experienced your particular problem, but I did find win98 ICsharing to be buggy & frustrating at times. I finally installed Wingate. This solved my sharing problems.

You will have to uninstall ICS and all its components, you will also have to edit the registery. I had this same problem.
