Internet Explorer 6 Problem

Images Aren't Loading
When I go to a page such as X-Sages, the one in the picture, none of the images load up. I know for a fact that they are not wrong links because the same problem is happening on other pages. Anyone know why?

I had problems with IE6 as well, downloaded and installed it, and it seemed to work fine...

but I can not print nor do print previews from it. I try to do an add/remove on it to repair it and it is unable to complete the repair because their are like 11 dll's that are in version 5.5 that have to be version 6.0. No matter how many times I download it and install it...the samething the same files..

Good luck finding an answer.

doesn't IE have an option to disable images, have you looked to see if it is checked?

And the little resizer button comes up to increase the size from an unreadable, oh, about 2" by 2" to show the full screen capture in all it's glory. I've noticed on some web pages that the image which appears first is very briefly displayed ,1/2 sec., at full size before being shrunk to a size which can then be increased with the resizer. This site though only shows the smaller picture..but it can be increased to full size. It looks like you could use some kind of smoother for shrinking the picture size and keeping it legible. IE 6.0.2600.000CO

I would have thought it was that, but it loads some of the images on Anandtech and other sites. Here's a picture of what I see now:

Intersting, I cliked on Woodly's link and don't get the resizer option. Just full screen picture?

Anyway, addressing your issue, heh, are you behind a firewall? Do you have an older pc? Have you defragged lately? All of the above has caused issues for me at one time or another in getting webpage pictures to display instead of just the palce holders.

I'm running Win98 and IE 6 - sometimes I have the same problem, but it isn't consistent and if I refresh the page, 80% of the time the images will show up. Every so often, the post icons here don't come up for me, and there are a few other sites that seem to give me more trouble than others, but other than that, there's no real pattern.

Zone Alarm shouldn't be the problem, turned it off and same problem. I have a 600mhz P3 ComCRAP computer with broadband internet connection. I wouldn't consider it an "older" computer though.

works fine here, but I have another annoying problem with IE6 under WinXP. When I boot up, the first time the only website it will go to is my homepage. I can't type in a website or use the previously visited sites (down arrow on the address bar). I have to close it from the task menu, reopen it, then I can go to sites. After that it works fine..

No Zone Alarm wouldn't do it. Maybe a proxy server might though. I think that's what I was referring to, But your probably not using one of those either. Try flushing your cache, totally deleting all history folders and cookies thru explorer. Maybe rebooting too.

Yeah, in IE6 there is a feature for pictures. When I visit the first link, the screenshot is a little bigger than a thumbnail. I mouseover and get a resizer box which I clck on and get a full screen picture. When I click on your link I get a fullscreen picture only, no resizer option. But that had nothing to do with the original post. I had misunderstood it. I thought the fellow was developing a webpage in the first link but he just wants to see the pictures and I don't blame him. All the babe threads in here and he's going blind
