So I've been surfing for the last 20 years on this browser and still don't see to many reasons to switch over.

Ads? I blocked most of them. Manually but it worked, some still show but it's acceptable level. Like some video ads do happen but I tend to ignore sites that display them anyway, I can still add and block those too for future view.

Compatibility issues? Well, for one I think most sites in existence work fine, especially old ones or any government and bank site. Then if some site really shows in a weird manner or has issues I do have both Chrome and Edge installed, so it takes a click to check.

I have seen more and more pop-ups that tell me to use this or that browser, but honestly I find 1e10000 times more annoying the cookie/GDPR thing that's shown everywhere.

PS: for phone I do use Chrome more often but I still have like 5 browsers installed. Mostly to skip annoying sites that limit navigation to a few pages before asking registration.

So what's your opinion? What browser do you use the most, what makes you use it rather than any other?

Surprised at so many FF users. They made a comeback, huh!?

Someone tell me why FF is better than Chrome?

I only have Ublock Origin installed on Chrome for no ads. How can my life be improved?
Firefox has multi-account containers and facebook container add-ons from Mozilla. They are great for isolating a tab from your other tabs.

I use containers for shopping, banking, logging onto multiple yahoo email accounts at the same time, facebook, etc.

Chrome's bookmark management is rudimentary to say the least. The only browser with even more inferior bookmark management is Edge.

OTOH, the new Edge is the only browser that imported all my IE11 faves and put them neatly on a toolbar across the top. Ergo, I say that new Edge is the only one that manages my faves like I want them managed. FF would not do that, nor would Chrome.

Firefox doesn't put it on the bookmarks toolbar, but it does put them in a folder labelled (IIRC) 'From Internet Explorer'.

I can't remember off the top of my head what Chrome does in this respect.

And, I do not like the imposition of another layer (folder) between me and my work. Ergo, I rejected FF. But I appreciate how most of you FF users like tab browsing, etc. I don't . To each his or her own.

And therein lies the problem. FF then makes me use another layer and slows me down. I realize I am probably a minority in that I do not use tabbed browsing. Bottom line, to each his or her own.

Eh? You don't have to use folders if you don't want to.

Apparently in FF I would have to if I want to use my one click icon faves (you call them bookmarks) New Edge provides me with 1 click icons (15 of them) in a bar across the top.

Maybe it is there, but they did not automatically create it when I transitioned from IE11. I don't have the time or inclination to explore. So, just accept that we all like what we like and that is it.

Oh I not saying you should use browser x or y, just that feature wise they are not all that different. I use FF cuz I am used to it. The frequently visited sites get pegged on my ff homescreen and shows when I open a new tab.

You have that in ff and chrome as well if you want it.
Yep. Just go to Menu - Customize - Toolbars and select Bookmark Toolbar. Then you go to your bookmarks and edit your Bookmarks toolbar entries. I can see how that's a bit clunky to set up but the option is there like you said. I personally don't like the real-estate it uses even with Density set to Compact. Plus I'm used to going to the address bar and typing a few letters of the site I want to go to for it to come up.

I do agree with Corky that there are things about the Firefox UI which are clunky. I hate having to use 3 clicks to find out how many time I've been to a site. I hate the inconsistency of UI when I want to view all my bookmarks versus all history. I'm not a keyboard shortcut person so the UI needs well thought out.
