Hey people. I've just been reading the horror stories people have to tell with regards to PayPal and I realised no-one seems to realise the FBI has a special Internet Fraud investigations unit called the Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC). So if you have trouble of a criminal nature with any online e-tailer, now you know who to contact.

Definitely usefull. The question is what it does for the consumer that's already been screwed.

Got one for you right here

<< To whom it may concern,

BUYERS BEWARE

Okay, here is the story to back up the statement of why I will never purchase a single product from PLUG & PLAY (YESPLAY.COM) anymore?

To the store owners: You guys are so screwed.

Okay, today my brother had problems with his computer. This seemed like the usual problem but it was worse!

Today, I unplugged my brother?s USB mouse to sell it to someone; I was in a rush to go back to school, so I just left. When my brother arrived home, he was pissed off because I touched his stuff. After a while, he decided to plug in the PS/2 mouse, he turned off his computer, started it up. At that time I was in my room, didn?t care what he did. When he came out turning on the TV, I was wondering why he in his room isn?t watching on his ?new? TV Wonder.

Okay, when I left my room to check what was up, I realized his computer was off. I turned it on and there were 4 continuous beeps. I forgot what that mean; I thought it was a hard drive problem because of the loud noise the Fireball AS was making. I tried reseating the memory, the ATX power cord, moving the video card around.

Okay a little history. The video card had problems with being seated. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn?t. Before the warranty, we didn?t care much. If there was no video display, I would just move the case a little, wiggle the video card and magically it would appear perfectly. This was a minor problem, didn?t know it would lead into this.

I tried to wiggle the video card, it didn?t work. So I went back to the forums and starting to read the advices for the thread I posted. I asked ?Fire Ridge? from ICQ to know what was wrong. He suggested me to try a PCI video card. Okay I tried an AGP video card, and suddenly the crappy Intel i740 worked instead of the crappy product that Yes Play sold. Now we are stuck weather how to fuk up Yes play.

Anyways those plans are always not appropriate in public forums, but please e-mail me suggestions. I wouldn?t mind any suggestions to either to get a 100% working video card not just an 80% working video card or to mess around with the customers since well? screwing up companies in Toronto isn?t easy.

Yes I know it is MY FAULT for not fuking knocking on their asses during the 1 year warranty. Kids: teaches to be patience. Patience came in mind because; PC CANADA a much better store across was out of stock for the Asus V7700 so we went to a store located across the street that was PLUG & PLAY (YESPLAY.COM). Hell their name doesn?t even sound professional! I mean what kind of companies copy a phrase PnP that manufactures use. Why not have a company WHAT THE FUK for a computer store? Or that funny thread about GoLamers ambulance. The box was opened but I thought it was new since it was in a high display. We weren?t going back from a 40min trip without something.

I am so pissed at PnP, my fault for not looking deeply into the problem, Nothing is minor in computers. It?s either working, or fcked. I called the location up ETOBICOKE (416) 251-3731. They nicely greeted me, its all about time. So I said fuc off dumbasses. Now I got a half 100% fully functional video card. Not sure if it even works now. If I had my own car, I would drive to them right now and throw that fuking video card in their fuking fat ass face. Ah well, I guess my brother had fun with that video card.

If I was the store owner, I would probably find a solution or do some more tests to help the customer. After all, reputation is a MUST in computer stores! They just do not want to do business. Oh well, PC Canada, Here I come!

Time to tell my fellow Torontonians (such word?) to shop either at PC Canada, or a really reputable company. Hell even online stores have better service than fuk heads at PnP.

Good luck PnP. *This message may be indirect, to lazy to type different messages for different people*

Sorry for the delayed response guys, I just got back from lunch.

IgoByte, I think they would definitely want to hear about people who have been conned as this is how they build case histories.

VBBoy, you can go to PayPalSucks.com and PayPalWarning.com to read some troubling reports of the blatant theft of people's money by PayPal. In many cases PayPal has withdrawn money from peoples accounts without authorization. They have frozen accounts and never returned the money to the account owner.

Well, it's still not a hot deal but... Paypal does not look like a very good option for regular business. The horror stories are repeated over and over. The same stuff. They hold up funds for weeks and months with no explanation. I think the one fellow's allegation that they are funding themselves with your money is spot on.

btw that "video card problem" is not a video prob, by hot plugging in a ps2 mouse you fried your mobo (ps2 actively passes current through it) so it wasn't the company's fault you blew your mobo (unless I didn't read the entire post and taht is in there in which case I am an idiot and you may smack me around a bit for the retarded comment)

Yup they froze my account too after someone paid me $200 for an item, then they said the credit card was fraudulent. Luckily I had already removed the money from my account (never leave money with sketchy companies!!!) so the only thing they could do was freeze my account with 0 in it. All I asked was that they track the person that paid fraudulently but of course they have no motivation to do that since if they can just freeze accounts and keep the money then they lose nothing. So I just kept my $200 and they froze my account and Ill never use them again which honestly is no big loss.

In regards to the Pulg and play incident listed on a previous post, I have to refute the claims made by the moron who hotplugged his PS/2 mouse. I deal mainly with the Barrie location, but have dealt with Mark in etobicoke when the Barrie location is out of a product. My qestion is this: if you knew you had problems with the card anyways, why wouldn't you have taken it in to be replaced, as part of the warranty? By just diddling around with it, you set yourself up to have this problem after the warranty period ends. That's just poor logic on your end.

I realize no business can satisfy every customer all the time, but hell, if you can't help yourself, who can?

WTF is that really long post about? I can't understand any of it. What did this company do bad? Is this persons whole problem that he got a defective card and never returned it? (and then for some reason hot plugged his ps/2 mouse in the middle of it all)

Jfunk, you got me ROTFLMAO with your comment ... I was thinking exactly the same thing ... got all set up for a juicy paypal horror story, began reading that post, couldn't understand half of it, then when I got to the end, it came to me that this story isn't funny at all; it's about some kid who waited to return a videocard until the warranty expired and wants to blame the company that sold it to him.

I also agree with a post above that hot plugging in PS/2 mouse is not a good idea - I fried my A-bit Bh6 mobo about two years ago. Not fun.

I got ripped off attempting to purchase a car online we were very careful in wich items we ask for to prove residence, prove who he was etc. Well to make a long story short. The ifcc dept sent out his barney fife type detective who wanted to argue philosophy more than ask me questions abotu my case. They have never formely pressed charges agains tthe guy and I am out a big hun of change. So this is a suck as deal the ifcc sucks. Now more tahn ever because all the good agents are investigating terrorist.

IFCC is suck. I got ripped off by some dude in CA for 1600 via paypal last february.

I havent heard back from them since I logged the complaint in March. They ask for som mnuch frikking information so it seems like they are going to do something, but it just end up being a waste of ONE HOUR filling out the forms.

I've dealt with the IFCC, they rock. One day I got a call from the Hawaiian Department of Consumer Fraud Protection. Hawaii is where the little bastard that ripped me off lives. So I got assigned a case officer and he asked me some questions and told me to send him copies of emails, etc.

Well, I've got to step in and say something good about paypal. Last year when that internet scam was going on for the ps2 from the place in California, I bought one through paypal. When it was discovered to be a scam I contacted paypal and requested my money because they guaranteed it. It took a couple of internet forms and a few phone calls but I did get my money after about 2 months. I've never had a problem with Paypal. At that time I read through all the forums how paypal sucks and freezes accounts for no reason. I was worried but they did come through.
