I encountered an unique situation...

Case:
I bought a site www.xxxx.com on behalf of a NGO
This domain name was bought from godaddy.com
I was supervising a technical guy develop/manage the website on behalf of the NGO
When I went to the site one evening it was redirecting me to ww2.xxxx.com

PC with window 8
PC with Ubuntu
PC with window 7
IPhone

All 4 devices at my home were getting redirected to ww2.xxxx.com

Which I never created not owned to the best of my knowledge
On enquiring with my developer who was geographically separated and a friend sitting on another zone...

Both were able to access the site www.xxxx.com without any difficulty..

I tried using tips to remove redirecting virus from one of my PC... I FAILED ...and my surprise all of 4 home device got that virus at the same time.. surprising... Does any one has any clue ?? I am still struggling to see the URL from my home devices

Providing the actual domain name (presumably it's not what you wrote there) would allow us to look up the DNS records for the domain.

The virus problem sounds like a separate one to me. Furthermore, a virus that targets an iphone, a Windows PC and an Ubuntu box seems fairly unlikely. A DNS hack of your router seems more likely. What are the symptoms? This redirection business you were initially describing?

That's nothing to worry about, unless your web developer does not know about it.

It's just a subdomain under your domain name.

How can I deal with my DNS hack of router..? Can you help me? As for the domain name can I send it privately to you..

NO my problem is not that this subdomain name is existing... My problem is I am always getting redirected to this subdomain..

My friend and this developer have been successfully able to open www.xxxx.com
while when I type or cut and paste www.xxxx.com from any of my 4 device I am being redirected to ww2.xxxx.com

I should be able to see the site without getting automatically redirected

May be they set IP for which www can be accessed . (may be their farm ip only )

Can you tell us the actual domain name so we can pull DNS records?

It is possible that it is your router that is infected. It could have a hijacked DNS entry or set to forward all of your requests to a proxy. This would better explain how all 4 devices are having issues.

If you manually set your DNS on a computer to something like 8.8.8.8 (googles public dns server) do you still get redirected?
