I'm having trouble comprehending what my instructor is asking for in the 'C' to each answer. Here is the homework guidance:

SOLVE EACH EQUATION. STATE IN WORDS WHAT YOU DID IN EACH STEP OF THE SOLVE.

Problem #1:
1. C - 2 = 5 (Solve for C)
A. WORDS: Add 2 to both sides.
B. NUMERICAL SOLUTION: C = 7
C. SOLUTION IN TERMS OF VARIABLES: C = ????

Problem #2:
2. 5X + 2Y = 9 (Solve for Y)
A. WORDS: Subtract 5X from both sides. Divide both sides by 2.
B. NUMERICAL SOLUTION: Y=(5X-9)/2
C. SOLUTION IN TERMS OF VARIABLES: Y = ?????

The solution form you give for part B of problem 2 is what is being looked for in part C (if the problem asks for a numerical answer somewhere you should have been given a value for X.)

However, you should probably give that solution for 2 a thorough going over as there is a small mistake.

The numerical solution for the first question is just "7" and the solution in terms of variables is "C = 7". And as said above, you made a mistake on the second question.
