I know a tragedy has just occured and this is an emotional time, but I wouldn't recommend mixing finances with emotions
Anyways, small fry retail investors don't move markets anyways, it's the funds and banks that do. And patriotism or not, it is their JOB and duty to protect the assets of their clients. Foreign markets have already experienced sizable drops, and foreign investors will no doubt be liquidating their US equities.
All signs were pointing to a recession even before this happened, this will just make things worse. Remember, the market had already been pricing in a recovery for next year, and if that doesn't happen we are going to see further tankage. We can only pray that we don't enter a recession.

this is lower than even when the markets were at their lows in April. Just imagine what they'll be after the horrific incident.
