Once it has been on a screen for awhile, it does stick pretty well. It won't rip the screen out though. Just peel it off slowly.

Ordered through Zagg, when it was first posted on SD, jan 16 or so. Mid feb., still no sign, emailed them about it and said they sent it out when I initially ordered. they resent another one, and said if I dont return the original one they sent I would get charged for two, I was like wtf. Treated me like I was on the hustle, for $10 or something.

Depends on whether or not you actually use the IS lifetime warranty.

Depends on how many times you'd use your lifetime warranty. The BSE is cheap enough to buy multiple times to get close to the IS price. May as well get the BSE.

While not exactly thread related, I ordered a DS Lite skin from www.bestskinsever.com and have loved every minute of it being on my DS. I didn't use the screen protectors because they just scared me, but after these things set up do not ever plan on removing them! They are there forever as far as I am concerned.

Lifetime return policy on a protector that is unremovable. How does that work?

Anyone have experience with taking it off and either replacing or going to something new? I'm concerned that the sticking stuff is going to mess up the screen.

I put one on one of my GPS units and screwed up the placement, so I tried to remove it and reseat it. Got it reseated, but left a frosted area where I lifted it. This was while I was applying it, so I thought it should have been able to lift and reapply. Not so. Seems once stuck on always stuck on. Ruined the screen when removing it. Still have the others I ordered, but WILL NOT be using them, don't want to risk ruining another screen

if you use the solution (or water) while removing it, it wont leave any gunk behind

these things dont really seem to work on the concept of adhesives so there isnt really any residue that gets left behind when removing them. they seem to me to function more on the principle of suction, but on a much smaller scale.

i love it. its actually a 3M material that is often used on cars to protect paint finish. you can buy it by the rolls. but its much more convenient to have it precut. thats all that both invisible shield and bestskinsever do. its the same 3M stuff precut.

why pay 3x as much at invisishield?

InvisiShield has a much broader selection -- i.e., my phone's skin isn't available at BSE?

Otherwise, I'd have used BSE. That said, with this "half price" sale, and with $0 s/h at IS and $2 s/h (for 1 skin) the price difference (for 1 unit) is only about $3.

Same here, LG Trax wasn't available/listed at BSE, so i bought at InvisibleSHIELD. Picked up an iPhone version too for myself...
Free Shipping is just icing on the cake!

I just got mine today for my Canon SX100 IS. Impressive packaging for a screen protector. I'm impressed. Can't wait to put it on!

I don't want to TC but I want to offer my opinion of this product.

I think it's a good idea and when you first apply it, you think it's great.

The problem arises after time. The edges will begin to fill with dust and dirt which will eventually make it peel, but also, makes it look bad.
I've had mine for about 7 months on my iPhone 3G and I've already trimmed it back in certain areas because it looked awful and it was going to make it peel back even more if I didn't.
The on-screen section is fine as far as dirt and grime go and I haven't had to trim this at all. The problem with this part is due to the inconsistency of the product. There is a texture to it and it does affect the screen detail. There were also imperfections in mine.

I have purchased another case for my phone since then but I've kept the Invisishield on it. Mostly because the new case prety much covers all the problem areas with the Invisishied. I assume my phone will look brand new, for the most part, when I peel it away

However, if you want to give it a go, this is certainly a good promo.

I agree. Have ordered from both companies and products are identical. The only difference being the packaging. BSE ship in a plain envelope and tell you to apply with a credit card or the like, and IS sends you some windex spray stuff and a piece of rubber to help apply the skin.

If they have you product, I'd go with BSE.

Hint: I've found the best solution to use when applying either skin is some windex.

I would be careful if I were you where you spray Windex. It can destroy lcd screens....

Depends on the device. If it is an iphone, then the screen is glass and windex is no issue.

It's not just the screen. The ammonia in Windex will eat away the surface of any plastic, making it cloudy over time. You shouldn't use it on any device with a plastic exterior, which includes the iPhone, and just about everything else I can think of.

One application to put your shield on is probably not a big deal, but you *ARE* damaging your device, and that can add up over time.

@ericlp: It isn't unremovable, it is specifically designed to be removable. It really sticks on there, however, so it takes quite a bit of effort to get one off. This generates so much force that it could shatter LCD displays that don't have a stiff outer layer. (I took off a HUGE invisible shield when my GF's MacBook needed servicing. I'd spent 3 hours putting it on! The free replacement from Zagg only took about 45 minutes the 2nd time around however) It might help to re-dissolve the adhesive with water when removing, but I haven't run into this yet.

@ZippyDan: The shield films do have an adhesive backing to them that is activated by moisture and cures after drying. This is why they aren't really re-applyable multiple times. The adhesive sticks to the film and itself, leaving no trace on your device. At least, this has been my experience.

I can confirm this statement by Scagnetti. The DirtShield (no, I won't call it Invisible since it only propagates false advertisement in their name) will collect dirt on the edges (it has for mine and others I know) and eventually peel away on the iPhone 3G. If you don't trim it (which defeats the purpose of having a protective layer), the peeled away edges will collect even more dust, further peeling away the DirtShield.

Mine lasted less than a month.

Front is holding up half-okay (scratched and dented, though). Body is gone, it got too ugly.

So I noticed this on the front page and I commented here on 3/10/08. I got the BSE and have had it on my blackberry since just after I posted. I too have had some slight dirt accumulation under the skin, though it is no worst than what collects in the speaker area of the phone...

When not in the office I am in the garage or out on a tractor and the best looking part of my phone is the screen. Everything else is scratched up and pretty bad looking. I am definitely pleased with the protector and would still recommend them no matter who you get it through.
