what a hot deal. i've never pricematched before.. so all I have to do is....

order the same iomega cdrw from staples.com

after when I am done ordering call staples and tell them I want to pricematch to bestbuy.com
and I want to use a 40 $ coupon?

should I have added the coupon before ordering it or just request that I want to use a coupon when talking to the csr?

Iomega sells BOTH Plextor AND Sanyo 12/4/32 drives. So you aren't necessarily guaranteed one with Burn-proof technology.

I would call them and do the pricematch right there before my credit card is charged so i don't get overcharged. last month i pricematched 15 minutes AFTER i placed the order on their web site and it has been a month and my credit card STILL hasn't been credited with the difference. Anyone has the same problem?

Cybertiger had same problem each time i called to complaint regular CS and supervisors would give me excuses like it takes a month to post a credit to american express. Until I got nice supervisor who said that credit was improperly done and he redone it. within 48hours credit was posted

Just got my order in for $119 including tax. Very pleasant CSR named Linda had a lot of trouble trying to access the Bestbuy site; she took my word for it though and gave me the pricematch. Sweetheart - Bless 'er. Just have to wait 'til next week now to see if this is a burn-proof model or not. Fingers crossed.

Wish I could say the same, by the time I got in, they had checked BB's site and saw that their "free" shipping was for ground, so now their tacking on an overnight shipping charge of $7+ and a order processing fee, because BB also lists that on their Web site! I went ahead and ordered since it was still a decent deal with the $40 off, but not as good as it could have been. I fought this with mgr/supervisor but BB's site is so slow this morning it was like pulling teeth to get what I did get. Final price, with some jewel cases was $141.87. Still saved more than $100, so you be the judge...

What if you do the staples deal and it turns out that you didn't get one with burn-proof? Can you go into a B&M Staples and exchange it for one that does, or do you have to ship it back? Also, if I call staples and order it, would they allow me to pick it up from a B&M store, or do I have to wait for them to ship it?

Hey royboy, You should cancel your order and then call back. I got mine for a little over $120. Sometimes one csr will be an ass because they smell, and other times a csr will help you as much as they can to get the best deal. I canceled my order and reordered it 30 mins later and they did for me on the altec lansing speakers.

Same thing for me. Seems the CR's already know about this little "hot deal", as she didn't even ask if I wanted to pricematch it, she already knew i did, and where from. Didn't ask me for the code at best buy or anything. Forced me into the $7 shipping charge too, but for $130 for a 12x drive with burnproof, you really can't complain. Thanks for the awesome deal. this'll be my first CDR drive!

My CSR knew about it too. I had called earlier when Bestbuy.com was down to reserve my order. Called back a hour later and pricematched it down to 149.99. She gave me the price match and told me they had been doing it all day, but had to charge me a handling charge of 7.99 and a shipping charge of 7. Oh well still a great price for this burner.
