Yes, I know that someone already posted how to get a Iomega 8X4X32 from Staples for $69. That thread is here.
However, some people don't want to wade through all the messages just to find that there is a better deal to be had. The $44 deal involves signing up for something. This deal does not.
1. What you do is call Staples and ask to purchase:
Iomega 8X4X32 Drive.
2. Ask to price match CompUSA or Office Depot which both have this same drive for $129.99 after "instant savings" or "instant rebate" respectively. If they give you a hassle (which one supervisor this afternoon did) ask them to show you where on their price match policy it states that an instant rebate or instant savings disqualifies the item for a price match. I even called the CompUSA national service center and had the guy tell me that it was considered more of a "sale" than a rebate. I made the supervisor at Staples call her headquarters and then when she called me back, she was willing to do the pricematch. *She pissed me off during our conversation, otherwise I would have dropped the whole deal.*
3. Then apply the $20 off $100 coupon that Staples has.
4. Mail in both $30 rebates, and you end up paying only $49.99
Iomega
Staples Rebate
Here's the math:
$129.99 (pricematch) - $20 (coupon) - $60 rebates = $49.99
Can you beat that deal without signing up for anything?
I thought about this deal as soon as I heard about the Office Depot having this drive for $129.99 after instant rebate last week. Didn't want to post it though until I had verified that I could get the deal to work. I have myself ordered this drive and know that the deal works for a fact.
Kudos to Richter for posting the original deal (or copying it from somewhere else). I just hope I made it a little sweeter. Heh $20 sweeter...
