Looking for thoughts / opinions on the Iomega Rev Drives. I am considering using this as my primary backup device on a SBS2003 Server. I need to smash the current Centrance Travan drive. It is a piece of junk!
A what who now? Why not just use external drives? You could mirror a drive onto an identical model and be able to hot-swap it when your first one dies? Or use tape?
I am currently doing image dumps on a regular basis to an external drive so I have that covered. Just looking for an easy to manage backup for the customer. I just can't stand the lack of reliability on the Travan drive. It is really a piece of work!
I've had just the opposite experience with Travan Drives and Iomega. Add in Iomega's predatory and technology blocking business behavior and I reccomend going with anyone else but Iomega.
