I haven't tried iOS 7.0.2 but I removed iOS 7 from my iPhone with ease.

I posted this in the other thread:

Here is what I did for my iPhone:

1. Take pictures of how your stuff is organized so you can get it back to how you had it.
2. Made a backup
3. Uninstalled iTunes 11.1
4. Installed iTunes 10.7
5. Erased and started over
6. Installed the max iOS from iTunes 10.7 gave me iOS 6.1.3
7. Restore from backup

It may not work for his device but it worked for my iPhone. It is worth a try.

When though? Apple stopped signing iOS 6.1.3 recently.

FYI, new jailbreak dev team: http://alpinejb.blogspot.sk/

Tethered jailbreak almost done, untethered will take at least a month. Only for iPhone 5 and below so far. There is also evad3rs team that up to something.

Good stuff for those who need it. Since Apple TV 2 is the only thing I jailbreak, hopefully they can do something with that as well - esp. untethered, but I'm not holding my breath.

Phone at 10% battery life today. Started at 100% and have not charged since then.

Usage - 14 hours, 31 minutes.
Standby - 8 days, 20 hours.

Not sure how accurate 'Usage' is. I definitely did not put 14 hours of use in those 8 days. So if the background refreshing counts as usage then I can see that being somewhat realistic.

Still better than my Android which lasts 1.5 days just idling.

What phones? So obviously you'll get more than 9 days if you let it drain to zero.

Damn and here I thought I had to have the best battery life in my work 5c.

I'm at 6 hours 30 minutes of use on 8 days and I think 6 hours standby. The phone is used for work so I only use it for calls, exchange email and the occasional text/picture. My previous 4s got about 3 days sometimes 4. I'll occasionally get marathon calls of 3-4 hours and that impacts battery life a little more.

I'll get a screenshot posted up later when I'm on my computer.

If you take a screen grab, please post it in the iPhone 5c/5s thread. Or I can if it is all right with you. There are people there who don't believe iPhones can have good standby time.

BTW, Apple rated the standby time of the iPhone 4 at 300 hours, and the 4S at 200 hours, a 50% difference. The 4S has the worst standby of all the iPhones AFAIK.

Finally I can send SMS and iMessages in the same thread. I don't know if it was the last update or what, but if my iMessage fails, it will send as SMS now. Thank the lord!

Hmm I really wish the back gesture in Safari didn't take so much movement to complete on the iPad. I find it rather hard to do while I'm holding the iPad in landscape mode.

So, the more I've messed around with this, the more I am liking iOS 7. It really feels like a more polished version of some of the handset customized Android UIs, but without all the slowdown and extra junk. It retains enough of the iOS familiarity so not to be hard to do things I know how to do, yet it is different and refreshing enough, it feels like something new.

I think they did a real good job.

Agreed. I've played around with my wife's. Apple does an excellent job with OS development. As soon as a ~4.7" iPhone is released I'm moving away from my Note 2.

I'm pretty sure that feature has been there since iMessage was introduced.

I'm just going to go on a little rant here. I am really regretting upgrading to iOS 7:

1. Personal preference, I hate the animations. I disabled everything I could in Accessibility etc. Stuff like the bounciness in SMS is just goofy and slows down my phone.

2. Lag - I have a 4S and things are just slower. Especially MMS. Sometimes up to 6 seconds to send pictures. Super frustrating when you're sitting there waiting for something it did instantly a week ago.

3. Email - especially Exchange, disappears after updating. Usually a hard reboot solves this. Pain in the neck for my corporate users who update and then have no email, especially when they're traveling!!

4. Calendars - similar to the disappearing Exchange, for some reason a lot of the phones have decided to hide all calendars by default after the update. Then we'll go from 7.0 to 7.0.2 and it will hide them again! I had corporate users missing meetings because they didn't get alerts because the OS decided to auto-hide their calendars! Garbage! VERY frustrating!

5. Crashes - initially I thought it was just that developers hadn't updated their apps, but even Apple's Camera app crashes on me a lot. The Camera is probably the most-used app & feature on my iPhone, so this is a pretty big deal to me. I was out doing some iPhone shooting the other day and just had endless crashes, even after multiple hard reboots (and using different camera apps too!).

6. Camera issues - I have weird color-shift issues in video. I hate the slider on the camera button because I always accidentally flip it to video or square.

7. Autocorrect has gotten worse. Noticeably worse. It's terrible. Plus no Swype or Swiftkey or tactile feedback when typing - they could do a whole-phone vibrate haptic keyboard and buy up Kii or something.

8. Accidental presses - I accidentally open stuff like Search or Control Center when I don't want to (and then of course they don't open properly when I do want them to). I accidentally put my phone on speakerphone all the time when it's on my ear, which happened very very rarely in the past. Or I accidentally end a phone call. Or I accidentally slide-to-unlock the screen, especially when it's buzzing my pocket to answer and the phone call has already started by the time I take it out because of the slide. And then there's the weirdness of "slide to unlock anywhere" unless you have a SMS or something, then it slides straight into that app instead of anymore to the main screen.

9. Smaller buttons - everything is worse now for the GUI to me. Smaller numpad when dialing for example. And the iOS7 design updates for a lot of apps reflect that, like Camera+ - smaller buttons across the board, very hard to grab sliders or push buttons accurately.

I have other complaints, but that'll do for this post. Not a day goes by when I don't get a business user asking me how they can downgrade. Everyone is always hot-to-trot on new updates and don't bother waiting it out at work, so now I'm stuck hearing all of the issues. I doubt Apple is going to resolve most of these, because (1) iOS7 is the new design language, so it is what it is, and (2) Apple is a big fan of planned obsolescence, so I don't think I'm going to see much performance boost on my 4S under the new iOS, even though it's a perfectly capable phone.

It's just frustrating, mostly. Overall I like the Control Center addition and, you know, the phone is usable on a day-to-day basis, but like I was at the beach on Saturday and wanted to do photography for a couple hours and ended up only getting a few good shots because I was constantly crashing & trying hard reboots to fix it:

Yeah, I had this on iOS6 because iMessage to certain people was always messed up.

Facetime seems to be doing better, I connect more often & don't have to resort to Skype. That's awfully nice when I'm working late and can call my wife to say hi to my toddler and not have to jump through any hoops to do it.

iOS 7 on the iPhone 5S is blazing fast. In fact, everything is blazing fast on the 5S. Impressive.

However, TouchID crashed on me once. It just wouldn't recognize ANY finger. Not my trained ones to accept authentication, and not the untrained ones to deny authentication. Rebooted the phone to clear that error.

I totally love the new camera... on the 5S. But that's because it's the 5S, and not so much the interface.

But yeah, iOS 7 is still buggy, and they still need to deal with numerous font issues:

I also couldn't figure out how to search in iOS 7. I activated it by accident a couple of times, but still couldn't find it. I had to look it up - Search the net to find out how to search. Personally I think they should just add an icon for search to Control Center.
